people have the wrong view of scientists...i study physics and know plenty of physics professors who believe and talk freely about the existence of god. my prof last year was jewish and he even gave us a strong argument during one lecture, claiming that "god wanted us to do physics" (it had to do with how the more difficult something is to observe, the more complex it is mathematically)

Scientists continually test their work for critical review. History is replete with scientists challenging accepted theory. If scientists cling to a particular idea despite evidence, another will not hesitate to publish conflicting evidence. If there were serious problems with evolution, many scientists would be eager to win fame and publish a better alternative. Firstly - modern evolutionary synthesis (not 'Darwinian evolution') doesn't say anything about the orgin of life (that's abiogenesis). It explains the divesristy of life.

Secondly - it requires no belief, it can be tested. Science makes no comment on whether there's a god or not, do you actually understand this? It doesn't say YES THERE IS or NO THERE ISN'T. It only explains how things work. Not WHY they work. Do you see the difference? Religion should be a private affair. If you bring religion into schools for fairness you should bring them ALL. "ID" (creationism) isn't science because it explains nothing. It doesn't belong in the classroom, it belongs in religious studies.

ID answers nothing, if anything it complicates the matter by adding on an extra complex dimension. I would say that's secondary anyway because the main goal is to have god back in schools. Please, get your head out of your ass. I should have been more clear, I think religion should be taught in schools, ALL religions, as part of religious education. Religion is very important in human history and many things cannot be understood without understanding religions. What I'm against is putting it where it has no place, in science class for example. Secondly i'm against making a single religion dominant. The state has no place telling children who the creator is, it's a private matter.

Religious studies study RELIGION. In terms of human history. ALL religions, not just one.

ID explains nothing?? Only to those that scripture calls "willfully ignorant". Models derived from ID explain everything. There are countless, scientific hypothesis that can be stated & tested from it. The difference is the evidence actually CONFIRMS these models where with evolutionary/naturalistic models, the only way to 'confirm' them is to add unknown, unprovable assumptions like uniformitarinism and naturalism along with the breaking of established, known, scientific laws.
