@rurusiddi, i believe that this song is about loveing someone who doesn't love you back. the whole song is talking about someone trying to show another that they love them, only to have that other be completely oblivious to everything you do. but every once in a while, you'll get that signal that they are really noticing you, only to have your hope crushed. losing your religion = losing hope in the person that you love
