I WAS BLESSED ENOGH TO HAVE SEEN ELVIS LIVE IN THE EARLY 70 S AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THERE NEVER HAS BEEN NOR WILL THERE EVER BE ANYONE AS COOL AS ELVIS ! HE WAS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF EVERONE IN BOTH HOW HE SANG AND HOW HE LOOKED. PUT SIMPLY.... HE WAS THE SHIT !!
I really don't understand why Elvis never really liked this song. I heard he said that he was too old for songs like this. Come on! He was only 37 years old! That is so young! I just can't understand.
Fro, Wikip: "{Burning Love) reached #1 on Cashbox's top 40 charts for the week of November 11, which gave him 20 US #1 hits. The song was Elvis's 40th and last Top Ten hit on the US charts. "
Hey man. Can you tell me if the backup singer in the back, in the middle, is one of the Oak Ridge Boys. Looks like their bass singer in his younger days. Maybe not, idk. Thanks a mill.
oh, so much thanks for this! it is so rare to see him in rehearsal...I loved the glasses falling off (looking much better without them) and the total professional and respectful way that he asked for second try. Humble and amazing. I wd love to be a choris guy that day, but I was 7, too bad!
Ronnie Tutt, the drummer in this video, was the one that talked Elvis into recording Burnin' Love. Elvis really did not want to do the song. It was a perfect song for Elvis. He knocked it out of the park.
sartainja....actually Ronnie had help from producer Felton Jarvis in talking Elvis into recording this song. It wasn't so much that he didn't like the song. With the recent separation from Priscilla all he wanted to do was ballads like For The Good Times, Separate ways, Fool & Always on My Mind, & It's A Matter Of Time. which were the other songs recorded from March 27-29, 1972. As was Where Do I Go From Here. But yeah Great song though...To me ELVIS' BESTSONG
@ep1970 THIS MESSAGE IS FOR THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING ALL OF THIS PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN FOOTAGE OF ELVIS ON TOUR . YOU ARE ONE OF THE MOST SELFLESS PEOPLE I EVER SEEN . YOU HAVE GONE TO A GREAT DEAL OF WORK AND IM SURE EXPENSE TO BRING THIS TO ALL OF US FANS. YOU ASK FOR NOTHING IN RETURN! YOU HAVE GIVEN US WHAT EVEN AFTER 34 YEARS SINCE HIS PASSING, THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE COULD NOT . GOD BLESS YOU AND FROM ALL OF US THANKYOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was such a great rehearsal. Thanks so very much for posting it. 1972 was such a great year for Elvis. Burning Love is one of the greatest songs ever. It's one of my favorite songs. It should have been a #1 hit for Elvis in America. Elvis will always be the king. I'm an avid Elvis collector. I own 180 Elvis CD's, 69 Elvis DVD's, 30 Elvis Books and a ton of other Elvis stuff.
