Why am I not buying an ipod? I want do drag and drop music on my own without having to go thru a complicated application (iTunes), which is also a computer resource hog. Also, no need to worry about iTunes automatically deleting songs when syncing up, plus I can sync my girlfriend's non-ipod device easily without getting non-compatability messages from iTunes. Apple has remained king because poor marketing by their competition has failed to highlight their user-friendliness compared to Apple.

If you allready have an Ipod touch or something that has similar function,keep it if you like it.Nobody has a samsung player 50 in usa because they are not available yet that I know of.Ipod Touch batteries do die and do wear down faster after a few years usage and the only way to get a new one is to send the ipod touch back to Apple and pay to have them replace your whole Ipod=trash or recycle the old one.

This samsung could be a good alternative if it ever came out in usa .

The last I checked, you can not change your battery in any version of Ipod Touch if it ever dies and will not take a full charge.This Samsung Galaxy 50 you can pop the back off and change the battery anytime.Any video on Youtube showing you can buy a do it yourself kit to change the battery in ipod touches without breaking the screen are not telling the truth.I would buy one of these if they were available in USA for price I have seen on some UK websites.

Last I checked, no one with an ipod touch (myself included) cared about any frikin battery! In my opinion, samsung's battery makes the player thicker and heavier, making the ipod more portable, which is the whole reason mp3's were invented. No one cares about samsung's battery. period. Galaxy player doesnt need any software to use. Plug it in to any computer, drag and drop music, videos and others and your done.

Simple, effective, and hassle free. No need to always sync your music where ever you go. Plus it has multiple codecs to play a variety of movies/music/multimedia content.

I am familiar with "jailbreak". However, once you do, you lose all warranty provided by Apple.

Android, on the other hand, has these features BUILT in and DOES NOT REQUIRED one to CIRCUMVENT the factory settings to enable these features.

From the time it take to open both sets of devices side by side at the same time, the person who is using an Android device will be able to drag and drop their files quicker than the one who is using an Apple device.

I've been an audiophile listener ever since the Cowon, iRiver and other MP3 player days long before the iPod came along.

iPod doesn't introduce anything new to the realm of sound quality. You can hear notes/tones on other devices (such as the Galaxy Player) that you cant on the iPods, iPod Touch, iPhones etc.

Samsung has been making portable music players way before iPod came along, buddy. Its the other way around.

Regarding the radio in the mountains, yes, you can still get radio reception on the mountains. Seems like you havent been on one yourself. I organize a camping escapade bi-weekly for my local church group so I have personal experience on the functioning and merits of radio on a mountain. Wifi signals? Nope. 3G signals? Nope.

Radio waves travels long distances. Even the shorter FM frequencies travels great distances AM frequencies travel even longer. They can cover an entire city.
