I love five color so much! I recommend that everybody plays it because their is no particular way to play/build it. I still play it in standard and I made it and call it "Five color super-friends manlands control" I don't use any multicolor cards besides Sarkhan vol. Other versions are aggro, cruel, and allies. I'm serious, everyone should play this
5/1/2008: Reflecting Pool checks the effects of all mana-producing abilities of lands you control, but it doesn't check their costs. For example, Vivid Crag says "{T}, Remove a charge counter from Vivid Crag: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool." If you control Vivid Crag and Reflecting Pool, you can tap Reflecting Pool for any color of mana. It doesn't matter whether Vivid Crag has a charge counter on it, and it doesn't matter whether it's untapped./END
your viveds dont actually need the counter...reflectiong pool says a mana of any type a loand you control COULD produce, not CAN produce. so even without counters it still works.
i see what you're saying and i have no idea what the actual rule is. but technically, if a vivid doesn't have any counters, then it technically COULD NOT produce mana of any color. /shrug Reflecting pool can reproduce any mana a land you control could produce, but a vivid land without any counters can only produce ONE color...
under the vivids are reflecting pool, best land in the deck can tap for 1 of any mana you can produce. So as long as you have any vivids that have at least one counter on them then it tapes for any color
it dusnt need the counter dus it??? cos it is wat da lands r capable of making if they cud fulfil ne costs, so u cud use any mana by having a vivid land even without ne counters
Exactly. I don't suppose you remember the 240+ card Battle of Wits decks that were in standard when 9th edition was legal? Decks like that wouldn't be possible if the game had a rule like other card games that specified an "exact" number rather than a "minimum" number.
I'm running a deck similiar to it. The point is attacking at the right time. like he said survive the first few turn then sweep in with some esper charms to discard then use the winning cards
this deck its insanely perfect lol... Nassif's team called it "the keeper" i have my own version of this deck its soooo much fun to play i love it!

im pretty sure you cant use pool for any mana if you dont have counters on your vivids.
DaniKiller 2 years ago
i thought dat u cud use pool 2 use ne mana that a land is capable of making even if it cannot pay the costs
MJtheKandyman 2 years ago
vivids + reflecting pool= any mana it takes the tap effect and dosnt need counters to produce it.
sandmonkeyownsu 2 years ago
well i always see these lands but am really confused about wtf they r. what r the four lands under vivids?
nickiscool5656 2 years ago

MJtheKandyman 2 years ago
is it me or does this deck have 61 cards
Gedaning20 2 years ago
You can have over 60 cards.. as long as you can shuffle without help from anyone it's okay.

wasn't it normally more than like 260 so that u could last a wile without going below battle of wits winning range

the old fae kills 5 colors, however, fallout is too much hate and agony warp is counter by wall
as Nassif said
Fae is still a strong deck, it is just that
people hate it too much

So the win condition is literally 3 Broodmate and 2 Cruels?
Senyuno 2 years ago
is that so hard to believe? if you can take care of ANYTHING the opponent plays
hcortens 2 years ago
also, drifter is often a win-con
rengarth 2 years ago
Well, if I wanted to build an anti-strategy to it, I guess I'd contribute little to the board and save 5 counters for their win conditions xD.
Senyuno 2 years ago
haha that's pretty much the match up actually :p

where is the deck tech for Brian Robinsons "Dark Bant" deck?

It's really great to see some event coverage in HD, especially the deck-tech where you really want to be able to see the cards.
