ceremony was origininally written by ian curtis, it was one of the last songs he ever wrote (R.I.P) its my favouite song and the new order version of it totally beats it.

but i agree, ive always thought of jd as a band who punches a depressing or deep message and softens it with carefree instruments that kind of sounds happy almost nostalgic(pre closer, where they go all out sadistic) and you can see that in this song

whenever i listen to New Order i can always here so much Joy Division in them. (of course being 3/4 of JD) i think a lot of it has to do with Hook's bass... but their still a completely different band, they evolved into something great... this particular song reminds me of 'Ceremony'
