I look for my son's cues (sucking on his fist, sticking out his tongue, rooting etc) before he gets to the crying stage as he gets MAD when he doesn't get boob. RIGHT NOW. lol

Mom #2 probably taught her baby to make that noise for everything. If parents do not respond to those reflex cries, the baby eventually stops using them.
