@ChaosBahamut The easy method is actually spelled out in the enemy files. When you encounter a Shadow, you should NOT start attacking it. When you shoot it, it goes aggro. When you just sit there and stare it down, it'll eventually try to spear you. Jump straight up to dodge and land on the spear, then fire your handguns as fast as you can. While your are standing on the spear, the shadow is stunned, and your damage goes directly to the core. Shadow will usually turn red right after, except DMD.
What is, and how do you do that jab jab jab with the sword at about the 2.45 mark? I've seen it heaps but can't for the life of me figure it out? Is it a special move?
Shadows are one of the best foes in dmc games. They become even more difficult in dmd when they shoot some sort of ethereal arrows that cause big damage. And fighting two shadows in dmd was nothing shorter than badass.
Play vs shadow is nicely great fight. If you picked the right time to hurt him, the fight will be lovely to see. I like use R1 + triangle (or delta) to dodge on right time and after unload ammunition in it. The CPU is predictable. The Shadow apparently scared a lot, especially on Dante Must Die, but then becomes relatively easy.

@JamieRozs That's not what i experienced last time i played. I got caught when it glowed red. My health was max, but when it caught me, there instantly came some death scene like in the RE games, showing Dante gets tossed around, and then it just reads "You died" You're not gonna get instantly killed when it glows in its normal black/blue color, i know that.
@stelkin656 It does a certain amount of damage, however if that damage would kill you, this attack is one of the few in DMC that goes into a finishing screen. There are actually several finishing screens in DMC.
Therefor you should never drop the R1 and use evreytime triangle (on default). When it explodes, you should immediately jump back with the triangle. In fact, during the fight you should ALWAYS dodge to the sides. These jumps of video has a greater risk and less efficient.
@stelkin656 I found Death Scissors to be harder, due to the small space, and some of the other ones are really nasty on higher difficulty (I'm looking at you, Frost!)
@valmontdracul Can't you stun Frosts by using the devil arm (can't remember this correctly) Ifrit (those fire gloves)? That seemed to work when I was playing through the game.
Used to hate this bugger, in a good way of course, until I learned a trick to beating him.

@Hazz82 Swing swing pause swing swing swing. Depending on how long you delay, you'll get a double up-slash or the multystabs.
