Hi...im trying to grow my hair out. Im African American and constant heat application to my hair has damaged it. Do you have any hair care tips or good hair care information recomdations?
Do u do ur own trims? Because about 5 mnths ago I experienced huge growth, but went to a salon & the pretty much chopped it all off. What should I do?
You are so right about weaves being expensive, especially Virgin Indian hair! Than you have to pay someone to sew it in!! I've been natural for 5 1/2 months and I'm going through some emotional changes on finding styles that fit me!!
Happy 2012, Dprincess28 and followers. I love your channel and every chance I get I tell someone about your channel. Although, we have totally different hair textures, you have inspired me to (do it) go natural and to try certain products on my hair and my 12 yr old daughter. Keep the video coming and congrats on the baby (I know I'm almost a year late but I don't comment much).
May God keep giving you wisdom and bless your family in this year and many more to come.
I think you should give up the heat, and the trimming until your hair hits waist length. Or at least for the next six months. Your hair grows, then you straighten it (which shortens the lifespan of your ends) and then you end up trimming off half (if not all) of the lengh that you've gained.
I understand you're probably bored, but it doesn't really make sense. Anyway, sorry if this is coming off as impertinence, it's not meant to be. It's your hair, and your decision what to do with it.
@GwendolynRaine: I hear you, but I believe in doing regular trims whether heat is used or not. When I rid my curls of fairy knots/split ends then my hair doesn't tangle as much. Plus, I explain in my "How to trim split ends," video that when you know the difference between a trim and a cut, trims should never interfere with your length goals. I will be refraining from heat as much as possilbe though and doing protective styles. I do however need versatility so I don't get bored.
Your hair is beautiful and I'm trying to grow mine to mid back to waist length. We have a silimlar hair type. Hopefully i can share some tips with you on my other channel XquisitelyBeautiful when i start making vids. Good luck on your hair growth.
OMG you hair looks great! It's been a while since I've watched your videos and you've have achieved a great amount of growth. Great job! --and "little prince" is adorable!!!
Try wigs... That way you can cornrow your hair for 4-6 weeks, still get to your scalp, do cowashes, and baggy&seal your ends under the wig. I do it all the time and it works great!!!
happy new year! i am in love with hawaiin silky ever since you put it out there. it has been my holy grail. *plots to steal i mean borrow earrings* :) love you hair.
I need to baby my ends too! Its funny cause i get board with my curls and prefer my hair pressed...(makes my face look slimmer...) so I try to do a protective style for a while and ALWAYS end up Flat Ironing it! You Vid made me want to do better! (We almost have the same length! U got me by a couple of inchs! :P)
@007newnew: I'm definitely going to make sure to take breaks because you're right in that they can place a lot of tension on the edges and crown. I will of course remove it at night, moisturize and seal my ends and tie my hair up loosely. I'm not going to rock them everyday. I was thinking of wearing buns/phony ponies Monday-Friday and rocking braidouts, bunouts or other heat-free styles on the weekends and allow my hair to hang free.

So true about weaves, the good hair and good stylists don't come cheap (but they do last quit awhile though). You're hair is beautiful, as always.

How's the phony pony styling on the edges after a month? I might be interested in the phony pony...the cold weather makes hair like straw!
