I heard he was attempting to copy the emotion of hapiness at the very start of the fight, but he gave up when he saw his greatest enemy.

There isn't during boss endurance because they take away all of Kirby's actual abilities during this fight.... although it is a good strategy when you're fighting him normally.

However kudos to you, although there is a special image bonus for beating him unharmed.

my friend and i discovered a strategy for beating 02, you can actually blow up his wings so he can't follow you anymore. that way, you can skip shooting the eye and go straight for the halo! i found this out when i was doing badly against him, and to be frank, he was pissing me off. so i just started flying all over the place and shooting... and his wings blew up. xD i also remember shouting something like 'show me you ass... so that i can blow it up!' good times...
