Now which one do you think is better now TomTom or Navigon. Wait why did i even watch this pointless video i mean who goes out buys something without even having any idea on how to get the home screen up. Next when you Jailbreak your phone it has programs on it that aren't suppose to be on it in other words it makes the phone run slow very slow. But this is a great video on how not to make a video right after you bought an app without trying it out first.
Mate it might help to use it before you made the vid cos you didn't have a clue what to do for a start off you didn't know how to get to main screen so u suck not the app
Another cool thing is the Omnia i900 GPS reception is exceptional, it remains locked with at least 6 green bars out of 11 INSIDE a two story building after the first run. NO LIES here at all! I showed that a few times to co-workers with iphone 3G before the 3GS came out.
Also the Omnia i900 GPS software can do lots of cool things that can be on or off like speed limits, real time speed display (off by only 2mph at any speed), demo run, record 20 trips, all POIs, weather, almanac (moon phases), two different female voices (one for street names, one for turning and warning), 2D or three different 3D views, auto night, different map color, route list even GPS not locked yet but usually it get locked real fast under 20secs from cold start, few secs after first run.
LOL, the Omnia i900 of mine (one year old) took only 9secs to be ready for input and it DOES route lost re-calculation really fast like a dedicated GPS unit.
You may want to use a non jailbroken phone when posting reviews online. Jailbroken devices can have random issues with apps and cause slowness or problems.
and by the way, the navigon app loads 3 times faster when I load it up on my iphone.
This app is getting good reviews on the net. Its the best one out there right now by most reviews i have seen. Only one voice option is not really a downside, who cares about that honestly? The boot time is the same as just about any dedicated gps device also.
I notice that you tested navigon at home where the gps reception may be different. What is your opinion when you use it while mobile: walking, riding, driving? Could you do a video review in such settings?
I respect your opinion but I wouldn't call this a review by any means... it seemed like you didn't know how to use the application and because you were unfamiliar you called it awful.
Another thing is you didn't really test it at all for accuracy.
Also you say it's slow and yes it may be but heck many games are slow loading on the iphone. keep in mind this is a 1.2GB app and it has to load the maps as opposed to gmaps which downloads the maps as it goes...
Well it appears I don't know how to use this app is because it isn't exactly intuitive. Also I compare the speed of the app to Sygic which also is over a gig. Personally this app lacks many of the features of Sygic like an intuitive UI, multiple voices, ect. I just don't find this application polished in any way and charging $70 (soon to be $100) seems like stealing.
I agree about the price, it should not be that much. I think what navigon did was to release something before tomtom an steal customer away and then update to add the other features.
I don't mind that there is only one voice but I like the lane assist feature that sygic doesn't have I don't think.
Slight correction: G-Maps doesn't stream the map as it goes -- AT&T Navigator and Google Maps do that. G-Map and Sygic and Navigon have the maps on board.
You just said one thing and contradicted it in the same line lol. Gmaps is google maps and no, it does not work in airplane mode. I just tried it. It does not have the maps preloaded
Dude, this is why you should call apps by their PROPER names so no one gets confused. There is an actual GPS app called "G-Map." That's what I meant and that's what I thought you were referring to as well. G-Map *does* pre-load the maps onboard. Google Maps does not. (No one calls Google Maps "Gmap" :))
Although in your defense, you DID say "gmaps" vs. "gmap," so I did miss that part. But still, man, all it "Google Maps!" It's too close in spelling to "G-Map." :)
LOL that guy dont sound to far off from butthead at the end. lol

To get a good constant Gps signal it must be on a windshield mount. When its in open sky view it works perfectly

What is the name of the app that you use? I couldn't quite hear what you said.

Sygic. I have a review of that app as well, it should be on the right just under my AppleTV DVD drive video.
