this is so scary, my first instinct is to freak out when i see this...but it really is such a wonderful tool for children to have. i didn't even know this was possible. you're doing a great thing here, thank you for posting this. :)
Wow, i just witnessed a child, who is not even two years old, SAVE HIS OWN LIFE!
Obviously nothing replaces parental responsibility, but a child knowing these kind of survival skills can reduce the number of accidental drowning deaths that happen every year.
ignorants people!! how will he get drowned if theres some one taking he's video?? and that lil boy knows how to swim well.. you should all do reseach before comment nonsense?and its for their own good too you know?incase of emergency.. eow..just my opinion...peace out!
@reed28 it takes research and lots of training, but it should be tought to all children and practiced on a regular baisis, just like fire drills etc. Children have the capability to save themself in an emergency.
That is a very awesome thing to teach your child. I see all these people writing about how a gate should be there or a parent present but life isn't always that simple and it's full of "what ifs" In case of a "what if" this is a very usefull skill for a child to have.
Firstly the the screen/gate should have been securely closed. Secondly there should not be any temptations in the water for the child to reach in and get (this is when the falling in happens). Thirdly this child is very confident with his own skills and in the water which in it's self is awesome, but a toddler of 20mths should not be responsible for itself. Where are the parents or guardians?
watch your kid and this shit wouldnt happen. what do you think the screen is there for?! and if the parent was irresponsible enough to keep the kid out of her eye then what makes her going to hear her kids light cries for help. especially if they take these classes they probably love water. and "drowning" wont be scary anymore.
Definetly, I agree. This survival swiming can just increase teh chance of survival if accidental fall happens. Of coourse I alwasy recomend fences around pools. If your child knows survival swim but a guest doesn't... the child could drown in a matter of seconds.
I think it goes without saying besides this being a very cruicial and life saving skill it is still always good to be 100% safe around an infant and supervise them near the pool. Accidents can always happen and even the most confident swimmer can get into trouble.
He's like a little man.
