To me all FFVII games are the most dear FF games, including FFVII Crisis Core (so i agree with you, it really is among the best games ever). FFVII is The game in my life, and i don't love or respect any other game world or characters just as much as FFVII's, but that doesn't mean i couldn't make a parody of it. This isn't meant to be funny in a mean, offensive way, but in a loving, affectioned way, and is not meant to be taken seriously.
