If that was your first collapse, propably you are new to flying. In that case, this glider is far to hard to handle for you. Get a DHV 1 (EN A) if you´re going thermal. Also, learn how to handle a collapse. You´ve done nothing and waited for your wing to self-recover. That´s not how an intermediate glider with EN B level it to be flown.
right side tucked, swung him up, opened up, tucked the other side, which cravated, stablio line (outer most B-line) would have fixed it in no time, pumping isnt the best to get out a cravat, and held on the risers so you couldnt feel at the wing as much, but you had height and can learn from this experience, i wish you many safe flights and same amount of landings ;)
That was a clapper on the right caused by the thermal and not by coming out of the thermal, he was on the rand of the thermal when you heard the tones, then he hit the column he was a bit on the brakes and wham right side stall. Recovery took longer because he was afraid to brake.
I have never had this kind of situation, but some people suggest deliberately collapsing the side of the cravat and it should open by itself. This certainly depends on the wing. For competition wings with large cravat you would need to actually stall and re-open it.
You flew straight through a big thermal. Your vario was going nuts. With strong thermals comes strong sink so you should be ready for it. When your wing pitched backwards at about 27 seconds you should have been coring the lift, not flying through it. When you get a vario tone like that you need to be ready for the sink on the other side if you don't core the lift. With the height you had you could afford to be a bit casual with the piloting but can't do that low down. Be ready for the sink
A collapse is not sensational. Fly enough and it will happen. What is more interesting is the right collapse, pilot intervention then left collapse + cravat. Any suggest ions on the cause of the last point?
Sunt si eu interesat de un Mojo 3. Imi poti spune te rog cam cum e aripa? Isi merita banii? Si inca ceva: ai vreo idee ce finete are?
that happend to me at pendle hill but i was lower to the hill and had about 60 ft to play with. The good thing is your wing did it's job and recovered as mine did.I'v learnt to fly more active and feel the presure and counter the pitching. It's a real shitter though my arse was twitching for hours. The main thing is, keep the faith, good luck dude.
Shoulda cored that thermal, man! I heard your vario go from beeping lazily to screaming just a couple of seconds before your collapse. That's why you had the collapse--you fell out of it. It would be a good idea not to hold your risers next time too. Holding your risers prevents you from active piloting, which you'll definitely need if you nearly got into a collapse-induced spiral.
That was ace (from down here). I like how you were holding the riser for comfort afterward - and did I hear Fu**ing *ell muttered under your breath after? My heart was beating for you mate - nice one. Keep up the good work.
You are lucky that you had a EN B wing, it would be much worse on the EN C or EN D wing.. so, be ready and react properly! Good luck!

What about the collapse videos you never see because the pilot hit the ground at 50 mph and broke the camera? Search for Mythology of the Airframe

Better try all of this at SIV before.

Mersi si Safe landings! :)
