  • please somone tell me where you can get one of these and how much. Thanks

  • the old school days

  • willing to sell it?

  • the first rotating light beacon siren!

  • You wouldn't happen to know how many amps the model 28 draws do you?

  • Like the colour XD

  • most of our engines have those. i wish i could go sit in my neighbors yard at midnight and do that

  • look at the glass at 0:40 lol

  • what is the visual difference between a 66 and a 28?

  • @rhett443 , The 28 is the bare bones siren. Paint or hammer tone finish. The 66 is the same siren with a rear chromed bullet, two piece (polished aluminum) pedestal mount. Chromed stator and chromed grill front. It was also available with different red light options for the front. And even the rear back in the 50's. The 66 also came with a simliar base to the cp25 siren base years ago. Low profile two hole mount. Hope this helps?

  • @911caddy Awesome thanks!

  • @911caddy Lol whats so fun about these sirens? I mean I like the sound but why do you remember every model and stuff...?

  • i never new it was just a fan

  • my dogs are howling as i type

  • Any way you could get the lights on all your sirens flashing? Love to see it!

  • this makes my doggies howl

  • I don't doubt it for a minute :)

  • @dwab321 haha mine to lol

  • @dwab321 I know everytime I play a video they are howling!!

  • hurts my ears over here :)

  • That is the idea!! ; )

  • Is it just me or was the light lense rotating due to vibration?

  • Nope, you and everyone else watching.

  • Maybe you're just on weed.

  • @bluegrass1dcr1 lmao i was thinking the same thing

  • @bluegrass1dcr1 It was turning looks like the lense band was loose

  • Very Nice

    Looks & Sounds Great

  • The SFPD used mechanical sirens on its cars until the mid-80s? That has to be a typo.

  • It is ! They used them until about 1978 .

  • Way back when, I know they used a Sireno 6" dia. siren. Not really loud enough to do the job. They had one red light on the left corner of the roof, and 2 lights together facing rear, one amber and one red.

  • ooooh! mer encanta esa sirena! es tipica de bomberos!!

  • Dirty Harry's police car siren . One like it was used in his black police car . In fact , San Francisco Police used these and CAMs in their cars . They were later replaced in the mid '80s with Unitrol 480Ks .

  • we have one of these just like that at our football staduim...so we can use it when our football team and my marching band plays when they come out..usually i dont play i just act like i am and listen to the siren haha

  • oh ok

  • Surprisingly they seem to be the most comon/popular sirens aroud still. You can find them on ebay very regularly and as I mentioned they are still used by some fire companies. An inexpensive way to get that mechanical tone on todays fire apparatus.

  • why didnt the light come on

  • It was'nt wired up. The end cap from a 66 was only on to deepen the sound of the 28.

  • MY dad has one of these.

  • Take the red light cover off and hold your ears. It will scream. I have one and it is much louder than the electronic ones used today.

  • kool. i also have one of these in my basement.

  • I find the cover gives the siren a bit more of a growl. As do most extended covers on mechanical sirens.

I'm not sure how many amps? Power was applied right off a spare car battery with jumper cables. I don't recall how many cranking amps the battery has... Don't forget your ear plugs if you try doing this at home.

  • The cover does seem to muffle it a bit.

  • How much juice did you have powering that siren?
