I saw them play years ago at a little bar outside of East Texas College (not sure what it's called now). I think the bar was called Cafe A or something like that. I bought their cassette (which I still have). I also have two of their CDs. Never understood why they didn't become huge. There seems to be a Texas curse on alternative bands (Deep Blue Something). Unless you play country or blues in Texas, you get bitten by the curse.
Crikey, lots of memories! This started it all! You won't believe this Wes, but I saw this at the Video Bar one night and it was early 1990 when I worked at Dave's Art Pawn Shop...This always makes me smile!
They are not together anymore. They played a "reunion" gig back in the winter (minus Mark, the bass player) in which Michael Jerome played a cardboard box and still sounded better than the rest of the drummers performing that night. As far as when the video was made, I'm not particularly sure. I may have Good Ol' Days Syndrome, but the music scene back in the early and mid-nineties in Dallas was way, WAY better than it is now.
Wow, Pop Poppins, jwestern, when was this video made?
I used to play music in Witchita Falls a lot when Iw as living in Altus, Oklahoma. Pop Poppins was the best band around by far back then. I really loved their music, and I still have 3 of their old cd's. They were very talented singers and musicians. Are they still together?
Hi, this was made back in 1994, maybe...You can go to broose(dot)com, or bilifrankenstein(dot) to find out about Bill and Broose, MJ has a myspace page, Mark is against computers. I have some other Broose and Bill videos on my youtube site too, some much newer ones and a few old ones.
