  • I have a question for anyone who knows? Can any of you guys tell me, being East Germany was communist, Did the DDR send forces to Vietnam to help the VC fight Americans?

  • @RFKFANTS67 They had advisors sent there, mainly infantry and airdefense officers and senior non-coms.The Russians had pilots who actually flew against our guys during dogfigts over North Viet-nam.

  • McDonald's or Burger King?

  • We had the air power to win...Curtis Lemay commander of SAC said he could win this war in 10 days./he was denied permission to bomb targets in Vietnam. Later president Nixon ordered bombing of Vietnam and after 11 continuous days of bombing north Vietnam said they wanted to talk peace.

  • @whiskeyify the war was practicaly won.

  • @whiskeyify

Yes Nixon took action which should have been taken by

Lyndon Johnson 4 years earlier. By then it was too late

to win anything. That is what happens when one gets

invloved in "limited engagements" or "police actions" or

whatever it is called when you are not serioous about

    winning.

  • Not as bad as platoon, but still pretty unimaginative and forgettable.

  • lame movie, watch vietnam on history channel

  • Amazing Americans still support war after the Vietnam debacle. It's so true in this movie the Vietnamese girl says "GI likes to fight". In the end they died for nothing while it was true the NVA became heroes. What's amazing too is by 1990's the American military were back, this time friends with the very govt that killed 58,000 of them, maiming more. So what the hell was all that for? (rhetorical question)

  • @AccordGTR "still support the war..." The American people never supported the war, which is why we left Vietnam in the first place. Nowadays we don't really care about the war itself but we like to honor the people that fought on behalf of our country. There's a difference between supporting a war and supporting the people that are fighting it.

  • @AccordGTR

It was for Glory. God likes War. There will always be War because

    God wants it that way!!!!

  • And that's how we won.

  • @JesusChristisMuslim Oh yeah completely. I forgot that shooting someone who is killing a civilian is a horrible thing.

  • The battle for Hamburger Hill is like the whole Vietnam War in a nutshell

  • Fuck you hippies.

  • @aDALxVSxTHExWORLD Go to Afghanistan chickenshit!

  • @shumpert US is the so-called only world power, but you do not run this planet, and if you do, you're not doing a very good job. While I think a lot of good things came from the US, one major problem is that your government-unlike your claim-does NOT leave others alone. US has militarily interfered in other countries' affairs more than 70 times in the last 6 decades. If only 1 country would do to you what your country has done to others so many times, you would maybe understand some of the hate.

  • @Tigelinus

And when we don't interfere, everyone is begging us to

interfere in some way or other. I say fuck the world.

We withdraw from it. Let other countries fight among

    themselves!!!

  • @NewWaveTH

    John Pilger "Breaking The Silence."

    Norman Solomon: "War Made Easy."

    Eugene Jarecki: "Why We Fight."

Robert Greenwald: "Uncovered. The Whole Truth About The Iraq War."

    Robert Greenwald: "Iraq For Sale."

Gary Null: "Gulf War Syndrome. Killing Our Own."

All on YT or video google, esp the last docu is worth watching (like all the others) to see how your government treats those they send to war in the name of "freedom & democracy."

    Just awful.

  • The war today is a joke! The soldiers here died right when they landed on the grass. They were barley given bullet proof vests. They had no technology, they fought their heart out! I'd like to see the Woman and Fags today in the army fight in this WAR, they wouldn't last one minute!

  • @StupidFuckingTrolls I look at it this way. With all this modern technology now we can be prepared and not risk lives.Therefor its safer

  • You'd think that America would have learned it's lesson after Vietnam, of what can happen when you let fear and paranoia as a excuse for war. I guess Vietnam had little effect on their consciousness cause in 2003 they invaded Iraq based on their fear and paranoia (again) and probably next decade they'll invade Iran or North Korea for the same stupid reasons.

  • @Insaneo78 You are an idiot. We went into Vietnam for a completely different reason then Iraq. One of the main reasons we went into Vietnam was because the U.S. was concerned about "the domino effect". In case you don't know what that is I'll tell you. North Vietnam was becoming a big communist country supported by Russia and China. When NV tried attacking SV the U.S. was concerned that if they became communist other countrys around it would aswell. which we were right about by the way...

  • @123nich You sir, make a lot of fucking sense.

  • @123nich So rather than allow other countries to pursue their own political aspirations, and resolve their own internal conflicts, we send thousands of young men into the jungles of Vietnam? Too many young men died for America's political ideology, in Vietnam and Iraq. It seems that the cycle will never end. You know why people spat on returning soldiers? Because they were disgusted with the entire affair.

The last thing this country needs is more uninformed jingoists, like yourself.

  • @CEShannVfB no, people spat on those soldiers because of the media. the main reason vietnam has such a bad reputation is because it was the first televised war. people sitting at home were shown these brutal images of war and were disgusted with what was happening. but is that really a decent reason to spit on those veterans? do you think that they wanted to go to some other country to kill people? to come back with not only physical scars but also metal ones? they did what was necessary to live

  • @jaikty "No, people spat o those soldiers because of the media."

And how exactly is that mutually exclusive with my reasoning that they were "disgusted with the entire affair." You go on to say just that at one point. I never once said it was justified, I simply commented that they were disgusted at the war as a whole.

Not to mention, the representation by the media wasn't necessarily skewed. Mcnamara himself said it was a worthless war, and events like My Lai don't really help the issue.

  • @CEShannVfB Honestly you are one messed up person. The NV tried to take over SV burning down villages or killing any civilian. Over in Iraq and Afghanistan a woman could not leave her husband even if he was beating her. Over there children can get can get beat or whipped just for failing a test. (dont believe me I can send you a link. And would you really spit on somebody who is willing to risk his/her life to save YOUR sorry ass!?! Fuck you people like you really make me upset.

  • @123nich When did I say that I, personally, would spit on a soldier?

It is not the responsibility of the United States to police the world. Just as we would prefer to settle our own disputes, so should we accord other countries that right.

Honestly, what you intended to be some passionate and idealistic speech ended up showing your ignorance and overall lack thinking. Somehow my critiquing American interventionism and providing insight into social unrest means I would spit on soldiers myself

  • @CEShannVfB I never said you personally said anything about spitting on a soldier. In your reply you were defending the people who have spit on them. Honestly the Vietnam war was a complicated time for the U.S. for the fact that the people did not want the soldiers in there, our media was controlling the public, and our goverment wanted nothing to do with Vietnam! All im saying is that we would have saved a ton of more lives if some uneducated fucks gave a shit about their country.

  • @Insaneo78 The North would kill anyone who disagreed with their politics its a simple as that.

That is one reason why we were there. The main reason is to stop the spread of a Communism.

People who hate the States use dumb parrot excuses. -padookieking

  • @Insaneo78

    Next, we invade Mars!!!

  • Hill 137?

  • @HeroLeanderS hill 937. Battlefield is incorrect if thats what you are relating 137 to

  • @Antimonkey125 yeah okay, becuz i allready thaught; Strange why whould they give 2 hills the name hamburger hill :-P

  • semael666 let me tell you something pal i`m 6ft2 245 pound bodybuilder i`m not a crack head and i do have a very good job.But most of all i`m an american.Anytime you want to stand in my face and talk about my country or my american brothers, be they crackheads or jobless let me know.and as far as the fat ass marine remark goes, make that remark here and not to the face of a marine,it will save you money on dental work, fuckin pussy.

  • American War in Vietnam was illegal and US army have made many crimes, killings, contamination by agent orange. US should be punished.

  • @rozpoznawaniemowy Can you please tell me what we did so wrong?

  • @rozpoznawaniemowy

Punish us with some Vietnamese pussy please!!

  • @bomber88x Yeah USA is the best counrty when it is about starting wars, stealing oil and bombing innocent people in the middel east.

  • @wolf100000000

But it was such fun wasting the bastards!!!

  • heavy stuff. just watched it. great nam movie. hope you hippies appreciate what they sacrificed while you were all doped up. acting was decent, if you havent seen Apocalypse now, give that a watch.

  • Every hater is supporting Communism.

  • some of the fatass american marines look like they have devoured a mountain of burgers hehe

  • Cry.Cry all day.all night,And call america what you will. But the bottom line is america rules this planet. If you dont like us thats ok too.We really dont care about your stupid ass either.LEAVE US ALONE AND WE`LL LEAVE YOU ALONE.But if you come over here and try to shit on america,Brother,You made a big mistake.America will take a shit on your country you wont ever be able to clean up.Nuff said.

  • @shumpert67 Tell it like it is. These shit heads dont give a fuck about our Country but yet we allow them to enter it give them jobs when we cant even get jobs as americans. Its a bunch of BS but i agree we do run this planet and anyone wanna contest us i say BRING IT ON MUTHA FUCKAS....

  • @shumpert67 U run this planet??? Last time i checked ur country had to change its own laws to be able to borrow more money from china. Actually, u dont have either jobs or money, the only thing u got in greater number is weapons, crackheads and homeless peopleXD

  • The United states is awsome, you all know it so stop trying to spew the usual anti-American bullshit. Im sorry you dont live in as good a country...its not our fault, dont blame us your pricks. go to hell.

  • @nickster105 There's two types of response to that a) feeling pity for you that you are actually that brainwashed to think the USA is the best place to live, and it never is the 'bad guy' or b) being disgusted by your immature level of dialogue. Not sure which one I'm more leaning towards, pity or disgust. You ever lived abroad kid?

  • The true face of the United States...

  • die usa !

  • Not even close to full metal jacket,or the original apocalypse now.But its better than platoon. Not saying much, but it is.It's all right, still too preachy, manipulative, bad use of musical score at critical times. The same major faults of platoon, but not as much.** stars

  • 'pepsi đây pepsi đây 2 đồng 1 chai đây' poor little kid

  • Thank you very much! The movie will tell you various things.

was inspired by watching a great movie at the age of 19.

With people? To live is? Had various.

I also learned a little English through movies and music♪

  • The book is cool too.

  • The soldiers in Vietnam when through months if not years of hell and returned to go through decades of hell.

  • To anyone who had to fight in this war your all heros! Thank you for what you did for this country and her people.

  • @SleazeThrobb12345 but then again.. what did the vietnam war did for america ?

  • @strontklont well bad spelling aside i was not talking what the war did or did not do all i said was that anyone who fought in this or any war and for any side is a hero in his or her own way

  • @SleazeThrobb12345 Sorry about the error there. not sure why you would have to bring it up but okey. also beeing a soldier can also just be a job it doesnt have to be a tale of heroism in every case. i'm sure there have been many soldiers that didnt fought bravely. and infact ended up getting their allies killed.

  • Comment removed

  • @estdenis1 yeah, piss on u too!

  • @SleazeThrobb12345: You mean, when the greatest military-power of the world attacks with 500 000 soldiers a poor third-world-country and throwing twenty time more bombs than in world war II....and get a kick in their ass at least - this soldiers are "heros"?

  • @MrPursuivant

The soldiiers are "Always" heroes no matter what the final results!!!!

  • @NewWaveTH soldiers are fucking dumbasses for picking up weapons to fight in the first place and all of this stuff happens because some assholes sitting in all of our governments are being greedy. economy. stupid politicians. these are the reasons for wars. always. it's time people understand that and tell these guys to fuck off.

  • @MrPursuivant

Yes. That is exactly what we mean. You Moron!!!

  • A brilliant Vietnam film hampered by the fact that two others came out that same year. It's really a shame when this kind of thing happens, The Thin Red Line came out the same year as Saving Private Ryan and as a result it gets swept under the rug. Out of Hamburger Hill, Platoon, and FMJ I have to say that I personally prefer HH out of all of them for it's realism and also a terrific soundtrack by Phillip Glass.

  • Jeeez, this war was simply terrible... Nothing gained, nothing won... But that's how it mostly is when it comes to war.

I wonder how fast, and with how few casualties this would've ended if the US had stayed out of it? The soldiers shouldn't have gone there in the first place...

  • @MadOrse i agree with you.

  • it technically was not a war, but rather a conflict.

  • @daugwad It was not a war, but rather a conflict? WTF?!?!? Every war is conflict, but not every conflict is a war! You need to specify more what you meant by that, its hard to understand what did you want to say with it!

  • @cyberdaemon what he meant was that congress never declared war or north vietnam. they just sent troops to the slaughter jungle. technically, it was a war, but was never official

  • It's a body count type of movie.

  • this looks cheesy

  • @enoching7 cheeseburger hill

  • so many great americans died fighting the gooks war. usa didnt lose the war, south vietnam did

  • @BEARARMZ They did lose, VC and NVA always had the upper hand what with there tunnel systems booby traps and ambushes.

  • @BEARARMZ As someone who fought those "gooks" (2 tours of duty, btw) - and a term I hate, by the way - yeah, we lost that war. And only someone who was never there could make the statement you made with such clueless conviction.

  • @darkchococide i have all the respect for people serving in the military, i plan to join the marine corps this year. i guess if u wanna say u got defeated by some GOOKS then go ahead, fighting some other countries war

  • @darkchococide lost is harsh...'unsuccessful" is more apt

  • Hamburger Hill, great movie! Amazing that the US stayed there for 11 years.

I would especially like to ask one of the Vietnam veterans here, when you guys where young and sent to Vietnam to fight the North, what did the US told you the main goal of this war would be?

  • @Ricckert That's a simple answer.

Like soldiers throughout time, the government never tells its fighting men and women anything . . .except kill the enemy.

  • @Ricckert

We didn't give a damn about what the goal was. We were

    soldiers.

  • Why does the government always blame the army when shit goes wrong?

Blaming the army is like blaming a book because you cant read.

  • FOR 1 MILLION TROOPS & VIETNAM VETERANS OF USA

  • charlies are very strong.

  • It's a movie so it's BASED on a real battle but is so full of BS it isn't even funny. I love the "stop the spread totalitarian communism. You should really study the History of Vietnam. Communism had NOTHING to do with the war. I was in the first ship to drop troops on what became hamburger hill. After the enemy finally just faded away, we picked up all the Americans and took them somewhere else. That showed them.

  • make war=profit

  • does anyone know where i can get this online and has shpping to colombia? :P

  • I think everybody should read the Pentagon Papers. It would clear a whole lot shit up for you about the Vietnam War.

  • @struch1989 Damned right. There's little point trying to understand this war without reading about what was in the Pentagon Papers. They sent those men to kill and die for financial interests, and fed them a whole lot of 'patriotic crap' to motivate them (those who weren't drafted).

  • @jimbobeire there's nothing in the pentagon papers that says the war was started to boost the defense industry. Johnson went in because they told him that the alliance system would suffer if they didn't. he was upset as Hell about the cost of the war because he wanted to waste more money on social programs.

  • not how I imagined hamburger hill

  • IN WAR, THERE'S NO WINNERS!

  • Platoon 1986***, The siege of firebase gloria 1987, Platoon leader 1988, Hamburger hill 1988, full metal 1987, The apocalypse, The deer hunter 1980, Born on the fourth of july, Bat 21, am i missing something?

  • @PEDROCLASSIC we were soldiers

  • @ninetaildude11 Ohhh yeah. im reading this book WE WERE SOLDIERS once and young written by Lt Gen Hal Moore**** and Joseph galloway, a photographer working for UPI and was told to carry an M-16 by a Major prior to the Ia drang War. Galloway argued that he was a "Civilian NonCombatant and must not carry a rifle according to the Geneva Convention. The Major replies; " No such thing in these mountains, Boy! Take the rifle" !!! ha ha I like that. Thanks

  • @ninetaildude11 yeah I've seen the movie by Mel gibson. I prefer watching those HUEYS come and go. what a site. I love the HUEY 1D. Thank you all Vietnam Veterans of AMERICA. We love you

  • @PEDROCLASSIC

"Go tell the Spartans" about the advisory period in vietnam.

  • There is two groups of people i hate: Hippis and Hippis

  • Honestly if people are forced to go to the military and get injured or god forbid DIE to ward off the threat of Communism that far off I surely think the US is starting to poke it's nose into too many people's business. Communism isn't great, but I think the Communists can be Communists and the Capitalists can be Capitalists, thank you.

  • damn brah they put CONDOMS ON THE damn RIFLE

  • Right, blame the hippies for the war. You know what? It was bad policy and worse strategy. People don't realize this, but defenders have the initiative in war. The war begins when the defender decides to resist. It ends when the defender decides to stop resisting. The will of the NVA/VC outlasted the will of the American people to wage a pointless war. Thousands of troops were dying, and for what? was American any safer? The vietnamese supported the communists. they got it.

  • @Marine4Life51 Are you crazy?!? Our own government didn't even support us back then! And you can't even forget about the media! When soldiers came back from the war they were mocked people would spit on them they were considered the bad guys! People like you disgust me! if you really think communism is better then get the fuck out of the United States.

  • @123nich

    Amen.

  • @123nich True communism has never existed, and thanks to human nature, never will. The communism that's been seen thus far, was nothing more than glorified kleptocratic, oligarchical tyranny. True communism is peaceful anarchy, and remember what Jefferson said about that?

  • @baronofcheese what did he say? :)

  • @niktasor "If men were angels we'd need no government."

  • @baronofcheese yeah! I think if we all respected each other we wouldn't need no government. Chaos regulates itself. Human beings are inherently defective xD. Nature rules!

  • @baronofcheese im not a commie but u cant have "peaceful communism" or peaceful anything in large numbers. ppl will always fight its what we do. for example families can have like 4 ppl, but there will be fights over a lot of things, just not really serious fights. if ur controlling millions its gonna turn to shit no matter what u do. the closest thing u can have to peaceful communism is by having a small number 100-500 ppl living in an area and working together like a village or something.

  • @123nich what did he say?

  • @Marine4Life51 Right fucking on brother. You told it like it is.

  • @123nich Amen to everything you said.

  • The idea of communism is better in my opinion

but put into practice it always turns out bad

to me what ends bad is bad lol

  • @123nich

    Make em then.

  • @PhilipineMan Cant and wont. He is a person and like all of us has the right to do what he wants. Thats the good thing about the United States that people want to take out.

  • @123nich Mabye he isn't in your bloody US,who want live in country that everyone are racist.

  • @FireWoRri0R What makes you say everyones a racist? What if I say all brits have bad teeth. Its called stereotypes

  • @123nich 1,Japanes war,North KOra war,Wietnam war,

  • @123nich People like u are funny... americans are always speaking of their so called freedom and liberty. Doesnt he have the freedom and liberty to choose if he like communism?? Doesnt he have the right to express his opinions without getting screamed at and called names. People like u are worse then any communist... U are a hypocrit.

  • @Semael666 I read your comment and realized your right. He does have the right to believe that. Soldiers died for his right to believe that. Doesnt make him right though. In fact communism have proven to be a failure in big societies such as the United States. Communism can work well with places such as towns and cities, but not countries. People (such as idiots) need to do a little research before making a HUGE decision such as that. Either way he is wrong and that was the point I was making.

  • @123nich Hey take it easy man, the reason Vietnam was lost is as with every civil war is difficult to win as an outsider, the troops would have a tour and the citizens remained there. Also as with Afghanistan in 1980 -1988 when the Russians fought there and lost with the same amount of casualities, isnt that saying something. They were called proxy wars, USSR helped Vietnam in the 1960s, USA helped Afghanistan in the 1980sWhat a mess now but indirectly it was USSR fighting the USA

  • @123nich Amen to that

  • @123nich Fuck Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whenever i see that tyhis movie is on tv i go to the channel and get it at the toothbrushing scene everytime its kinda strange how it happened 4 times

  • the marines always get the shuit end of the stick

  • @lvrpatriot01 these are Army Soldiers

  • Which actor/character was it, (not in this clip), had those beady sunglasses early in the movie? Right before the artillery strikes and some guy got his head blasted off. I've tried to find who which one he is. But I can't tell some of the actors apart. And I don't know if he simply lost those glasses and I couldn't recognize him, or he was the one that got his head blown off.

  • But Lt. Dan you ain't got no legs.

  • we the people of the planet earth must unite. we share a common goal ...propagation of our specie and the preservation of this planet that we call home. i pray not to a god but for the welfare of all things in the universe. let us find the wisdom that exists . let us see beyond as so many have for we as people of the universe can not and will not seace to exist for we already are.

  • ya thnx 4 the whole movie jagg off

    the whole 6 minutes

  • vietnam isn't communist

  • @larsgobbens Actually it is. The North Vietnamese, who won the war, were communists, therefore making Vietnam as it is still today, communist.

  • It was real all right - I remember it as a terrible mistake. Even at 19 years old I knew something was wrong with the decisions being made above us. After all the hell of that place we just gave it back to them.

  • Comment removed

  • If we had let gays serve in Vietnam we might have ended up losing that war!

  • @garfreed We DID lose in Vietnam, you fucking moron. (This is me talking to myself.)

  • @garfreed monologue.

  • is a good film is in vietnam "hamberger hill " is a fight vietnam communist vs americain army is not very far saigon

  • Vietnam won that war lol, chased america outta the country, im white and a canadian btw

  • got em kid. good job on your hw

  • Fuck the north vietnamese.. why do people always support the wrong

  • Not Seen this Movie since I was a Kid & Watched It with my Dad. Happy Memory I Wanna waych It again.....

  • is this real or a movie

  • @NarutoProductions7

Its a movie based on a real incident

  • @saif316 sooo there were no real hamburgers there?

  • @thelittlemind

Only the human meat that was grinded during the battle!!!

  • @NewWaveTH idk what i said.. i cant find my old comment to reply to yours idk if it was a joke or something :D

  • @NarutoProductions7 Real, although in actuality the American airborne troops suffered less than 75 KIA, which was somehow dramatised into something terrible, and just goes to show how superior US troops were to their NVA counterparts.

  • @NarutoProductions7 your a fucking retard

  • @jointjoey lol love you to<3 you wasted a comment just to respond to mines im so touched<33333

  • America was in Vietnam to stop the spread of totalitarian communism.

The filthy hippies sapped the will of the government to fight and win this war.

The fact that the Vietnamese people suffer under commie rule today belongs to the hippie.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg No just another way to kill our Troops.

  • @TheSuburbanTechnique Oh shut the fuck up you hippy, its not your troops, you ought to go sign up in the army and do something useful instead of stealing my air. Every person who joins the army knows what the risk is.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg despite you say that vietnam nowadays is a progressing country.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg I don't understand why the americans hate the totalitarian communism, Isn't the same that the capitalism with less disguised brainwashing?

  • @aaronmaton no because in capitalism your hard earned money that goes to taxes pays officers, firemen, helps build hospitals, roads, schools, etc. It doesnt go into the pockets of a filthy bum. Welfare is different because it is for adults with children that cant afford to buy them food and you cant even live off of it. Forgive me if i am inaccurate on anything on this though

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg They wanted communism. They were fighting a war FOR their freedom. Even Robert McNamara stated it in his movie. If you dont know who that is, you are retarded... The whole "domino theory" that communism would spread throughout asia was valid, but it wasnt the case here, it was an internal civil war that we stopped, not the spread of communism.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg America was propping up an abusive state itself. Vietnam is what it is because of the vietnamese, not because of a culture clash in a foreign nation.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg Now I am Conservative

But I think you are getting mixed up Cambodia was under a totalitarian goverment where the people suffered which yes was a result of the Vietnam war.

But Vietnam itself is in the best state it has been since long before the French Colonisation they are a Socalist republic which for some countries it works e.t Cuba Vietnam.
