  • titty model... haaaaaaaaaa...

    IM JOKING!!!

  • best panting ever in freaking middle earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just beautiful, beautiful work. If I ever get even half as good as GP I'll be deliriously happy. I wished she made dvd's of his secrets.

  • Mike...knock it off !!

  • This guy sure does know how to paint! Even though he didn't show any actual painting.

  • Er fucking weird!! Blatantly a hairy man's hands! Good info though, well done.

  • @CrazedAngerSmash Yeah the voice sounded fake too. I'm guessing a trans.

  • Is Girlpainting still doing videos, i havent seen any new ones in a long time.

  • Excellent video! Love the "realistic" vs. "comic" style classifications! I offer one tidbit of info: not all acrylics are transparent. The "organic based" colors such as pthalo blue and green, hansa yellow, alizarin crimson, etc. are transparent, however the "metal based" colors, such as titanium white, all the cadmiums (red, orange, yellow), cobalt blue, among others--these are opaque and will cover other colors quite nicely, or make organics more opaque. Any questions just drop me a line.

  • how you guyz paint it without having brush mark ??

  • creepy...

  • Girl Painting with those hands?

  • I think she sounds german. Just a guess lol

  • @TheRazor105 She is German.

  • any vids about how to paint ultramarines or lizardmen

  • Grey primer works great for me

  • I have a question. Apparently no where in my country carries black primer. Is there an alternative? Or do I have to prime my miniatures at all?

  • @ChaosGolem you don´t have to but you should do it. colour sticks better to the models if they are primed. maybe you can order some primer from a web store and ship it over to you.

  • @GirlPainting I got a question for you that pertains to ChaosGolem's question. I can't get black primer or any primer for that matter. As a alternative do you think I could use Adhesion Promoter on lead & metallic miniatures so my paints stick to them better? If you could give me you personal opion that would be great.

  • @EradicatingWarlock You can use Gesso found at art stores as a wonderful primer. Also spray primers are avialable as well. Both come in black and white and can also be ordered online..search "Dick Blick". In a pinch you can use Titanium White as a primer. It is far better to use tubes of acrylic paint found in art stores rather than paints offered by miniature companies. They are the same or better and definitely cheaper by volume. I recommend Golden or Liquitex as excellent brands.

  • @ChaosGolem hey, you can use any spray primer from what I understand, just make sure you dont over-paint so you dont block the details, you can find videos of people using sprays from walmart

  • love your voice

  • I KNEW IT... dont worry girl your secrets safte with me , we'll just keep it betwen us 333's , eh ?

BTW your music video is excellent too :)

  • I love the accent , it reminds me of something thats bugging the heck outta me.

I liek comic style too but Ive seen figures that look realistic with contrast , so Im not convinced theres only 2 ways to go

  • I don't know if anyone's requested it Alexandra but could you do a tutorial of nmm like on that comic style elf please? I've seen ur other tutorial on nmm but that only really helps with power weapons I'd love to see how to do armour and things. :) take care

  • @TheChesneyChrist the NMM on the elf is sky-earth, which is in her NMM tutorial near the end

  • @girlpainting i want to start painting miniatures but i dont want to spend a lot in case i dont like it, what would you recommend?

  • @101fmp in that case i recomend a paint set. there you have some colours, brush and minis to test.

  • @GirlPainting thanks

  • Alexandra can you do a tutorial about painting horses ?

  • Comic looks so much nicer.

  • Has anyone thought of painting the model while it's still on the spoor (however you spell it). I've started to try that as it holds the parts well and I can get paint in all the bits that get missed. I'm not expert though just trying it out. Just wondered if anyone else did it that way?

  • @joeypesci

    Hey there.

I did ONCE! It was with my first set of miniatures (Chaos Space Marines). I under coated while on the sprue and painted them up. The problem was not in the ability in being able to reach certain areas of the parts. It was great for that. It all went to hell when I went to glue them all together. The glue melted the pain around the joins and it all when to hell.

So I had to soak, wash and repaint from scratch.

  • mrs. doubtfire!?

  • What the hell, Benteyquamp!

  • I kinda do a mix of both. What paint was that for the non metallic gold btw?

  • good tutorial..i like your work..

  • i love painting it is a tridition an im only 10 i paint relly good i have the nice old style orks dragons hydras mummys and of corse dworfs and knights dark dragon knights ans skellies / barbarions wizerds you name it i paint it yo serch legodane1 and look at th video miniatures ohhh yeah and minitors and thifs gnomes horses hill gients and demons i <3 painting

  • You said you never use the black primer, but what if you had to paint, for example,a Necron army, wich is completly metallic?Wouldn't the white primer be inapropriate for that?

  • I only just started watching, and no offense, but how can you do such a great job painting the miniatures but leave your nails a mess?

  • Brilliant , can't wait till next one !!!!!!

  • This HOW TO video didn't have a single second of actual painting - only talked about painting. Should've been titled : "How to talk about painting."

  • man. noone in my area paint miniatures. maybe i should move out of this small town

  • i am most def a fan of COMIC style. realistic i mean.. it never ends.. your only 100% happy with real if its photorealistic, then we got the uncanny valley to deal with too.. comic style FOREVER!!!

  • u paint very wonderfully. those blood angels are magnificent. i am trying out ur technique... but need lots more practice lol.

  • thankyou, learning all the time

  • is this a DUDE????!!

  • @GPkrissy Iv been wondering the same, sounds much like a dude changing his voice.

  • @quwke My guess is it is a dude. Not that it really matters...

  • @quwke Sounds like Mrs. Doubtfire

  • Sorry but just putting 'rust' or 'moss' onto the model doesn't make it look realistic. otherwise good vid.

  • Great video but why did you say their is only two primer colours? Their is only two primers in the GW range but their is many different colours out their and something neutral like grey may actually be a much better choice of primer. Awesome paint jobs though

  • ure a gypsy

  • the point about the primer is moot since citadel's foundation paints came out. They paint over black no problem. but it's all down to preference

  • Have to disagree on your opinion about which color to choose for undercoat. I dont have any vids my own but i suggest that you look at awesomepaintjob which often uses a black undercoat and gets VERY beautiful results.

  • WTF, videos messed up for me D:, it looks like an old VHS video and keeps going green with squares :(

  • @Younowkoed seems like a driver problem with your garphics card or with the flash player.

  • @GirlPainting

It doesn't do it for any other videos D:. bit oh well, it worked, I just changed it to 240p :P

  • @GirlPainting ur so smark

  • @GirlPainting ur so smart

  • Great video. I am just a beginner and i have tried to paint: it's very difficult, but i want to learn. Have you ever won golden deamon? I'm just curious.

  • @somebody301 no, i did not win a deamon jet.

  • @GirlPainting impossible.... you are very good at painting.

  • Oh Alexandra, I am becoming quite an addict to your videos and you commentaries too. I loved the Plague marine and would love so much to see a tutorial by you for a plague marine. I have a set, but I'm too scared to even touch them without a tutorial.

  • oh kick ass blood angel love it i have been doing blood angels for about 6-7 years but sitll cant paint that good hahaha

  • Love your painting and good info here. subbed!

  • Great intro! Thanks!

  • @TheBrunoppt 31

  • LOLL

  • i think i want realistic style because i`m realy bad at non metallic metal but like the high contrast can we miks them and they look good anyway or do they dont go good together?

  • gosh dang! wow ! :) awesome miniatures!!!

    such detail work painted!!!

    beautiful !!!

  • Wonderful video :)

  • Alexandra,

Your colors are so rich and vibrant. How do you make them come out like that and if you haven't already done so, What paints and solutions do you use to achieve your effect. They are inspiring because the colors just jump out at you. I can wait of course for the rest of this series if you would share that aspect of your style and knowledge too. Thanks a bunch, Jim

  • well its just the combination of contrasts between dark and bright colours, colour contrasts itself and the acrylic paints with strong colours. if you whant to learn some technicks before my next video, just watch all the painting tutorials on my channel and al from awesomepaintjob, agproductions, spoosemaron, 2paintminiatures and every other good painter out there

  • Thanks, I'm loving your stuff....I have seen the others and enjoy their work too. They are all very good of course..It just seems as if they're is something more about your colors that is amazing. Do you Prefer the comic style over realistic?

  • i prefer comic style

  • every miniture lol chris's how to it very similar to this but i have to say youve set a big task !! and also theirs grey primier alot of pros use that !
