Not a terrible cover, but fred durst should never be let anywhere near a Pink Floyd song. The vocals are flat and disappointing when held up to the original's. They sound almost like they're talking instead of singing. Probably because fred durst couldnt sing hot cross buns to save his life.
If there's one good thing Fred Durst is good at, it's taking a great classic song and taking a dump all over it. At least he saved the speak and spell solo for a later time.

I think this rendition is beautiful. It aired live, 10 days after the Sept 11th attack on the USA. Emotions were still very much raw. You can see in Fred Durst's eyes how pissed he was. I watched it live and it brought me to tears.

This was from the heart and during a very strange time and it still touches my heart today. It always will. I love floyds version but I also love this version. It depicts the eerily sad emotion of not knowing whats to come or what just happened and why? I love it!

If there's one good thing Fred Durst is good at, it's taking a great classic song and taking a dump all over it. At least he saved the speak and spell solo for a later time.

really like this version, i like the different chords used as compared to the original. Though i think their alternative lyrics are bit too cliche for me eg. phrases like " before its too late, so proud to be free, who can we blame, dont be ashamed" sound like they come from a dummies guide to songwriting handbook :)

this song was sung at a benefit concert in Dec 2001 raising money for 9/11 victims and there families. one of the better songs on the benefit album which helped skyrocket the sales. A few words were changed to personalize the song and identify with the victims and the horrific event on 9/11. Goo Goo dolls and limp biz kit were the shit at that time and everyone knew the song was not the exact as the original and they didn't try for that, they raised money. knuckleheads get a clue before bashing

Why would Fred Durst ever try to cover Pink Floyd? You should have musical talent to try that.
I liked this version when it came out, but after becoming a big Pink Floyd fan I've realized how awful of an idea it is for anyone to cover Floyd.

I think this rendition is beautiful. It aired live, 10 days after the Sept 11th attack on the USA. Emotions were still very much raw. You can see in Fred Durst's eyes how pissed he was. I watched it live and it brought me to tears.

Im one of the biggest Floyd fans out there and nothing compares to them, but this is not a bad cover at all....and for anyone to argue about the differences and whos better is just moronic!! Enjoy them all!!! Its an honor for other bands to play Floyd!!

I have EVERY ALBUM (saucerful of secrets might be the best).. wish I could have seen the whole band together, but at 20 yrs old I'm proud to say I got to see Roger Waters Perform 'The Wall' live.. my favorite song of ALL time Comfortably Numb actually brought tears to my eyes.. it was Stellar and life changing.

I got to see Waters do the Wall At Nassau coliseum last month...I dont think I would have been able to live with myself if I didnt go...I wish I could go again.....but He's too far away now! This was from the heart and during a very strange time and it still touches my heart today. It always will. I love floyds version but I also love this version. It depicts the eerily sad emotion of not knowing whats to come or what just happened and why? I love it!

First a terrible tragedy like 9/11 happens, and then to top it off all the people that died have to be honored with a shitty pink floyd cover by Fred Durst. To me thats just disrespectful.
