I'm okay with puppies just as long as there's a distance between me and them , but adult & big dogs terrify me. Their barks and growls are deep and scary and I always imagine them attacking me. I hate it.

When people talk to me about my phobia they always reply with things like oh I'm scared of spiders. But a phobia is so much more than that. Your body physically takes over and goes into panic mode and you do anything in your power to get away from the situation. A phobia is like no fear you could ever imagine, it's a horrible thing to live with so I advise anyone who has one to seek advice and help, and to not be ashamed of admitting they have a phobia. They have the inner instinct of killing and blood lust in them. It's in their genes. I have gone through two cat massacres and have seen it. Well it's different when you're the one getting attacked by the dog, and seeing a friend being mauled by a dog. I've had both happen when I was a kid, and I automatically fear/hate all large dogs I didn't grow up with. @wuhtsup My neighbor has the most loving, adorable, friendly pitbull that I've ever seen. It even got along with my CAT.

Not all pits are bad. It's their training... if they're left to their own devices, they're more likely to attack other things and animals- and the same, obviously, if they're trained FOR fighting.

If you get one as a puppy it's very likely that with proper training you'll have a very loving dog.
