Thanks for a great video. We were 30 metres up stream from you.Great view until camera woman from newsround came and stood in front of us(we hade been there for an hour and a half !) Well they did interview me in the end. Anyway- well done real quality.
It was dramatic enough, but you were standing in entirely the wrong place, as most people do at the Inn. 300 yards to seaward/downstream is the spot, watching the far bank for the intial break.. see one of mine called "April Tides" for the best spot...filmed on a much smaller tide a couple of years ago. The wave usually dies outside the Inn because it hits deeper water. Great quality though.
Steady on mate. The fact that it's my vid has nothing to do with it...I'm TRYING to help. There are some great vids and pics of that spot, but last time I checked we were not supposed to post links, so I've offered you one that's easy to find just by clicking on my name. Jimmyboy1505 has far better footage of it than I do..the view count means nothing. I just got lucky by being linked to something else by an American journalist.
well put together. We were about 300m upstream and could see the guys in suits on the inflatable chairs through my binocs shortly before the wave arrived.
I agree with comments made at the end - there have been bigger and it barely made it to Maisemore - but very impressive, nonetheless and FAR more people along the shore than ever before presumably because of media publicity.
Thanks for your comment.....I have been playing with some new software so it was a bit of an "excercise" but it was such a beautiful morning.....just a pity there was so much fresh water in the river. I usually watch from Stonebench where the river is much narrower....may have been more dramatic there?
Those boats should be banned.

Nicely put together. You had a better position than I (about 8' in front of you) and you managed to catch the splash!!

Hi - thanks for your comment ! Does that mean you got wet ?

I dodged most of the splash but those behind me were drenched!
