We Europeans wach with great apprehension this election. Please please please not other 4 years like the last 8.

I turned in my absentee ballot yesterday after voting for Barack in Michigan. Its a really easy process. People need to get out and vote and stop Mccain/Palin!

What's the benefit of voting absentee as opposed to just going to the polls? This is my first time voting for President and I really want the experience. Is that wrong?

Voting absentee allows someone who won't be able to vote on electon day to do so beforehand. Say, if you're a truck driver hauling goods on the other side of the state, or you're a student studying out of state.

There is no benefit, it's only for the people who for some reason are going to be away. I am in Europe and there are plenty of Americans over here who are voting by absentee

No, but for me my first few elections I went in, but got lazy and now vote absentee. It's a lot easier.

No, that is not wrong at all! I remember the first time I voted and it felt awesome! Just make sure you have your voter id, driver's license and proof of address and that they all match up. I can't tell you how proud I am for wanting to participate in one of our most sacred rights in America! Thank you!

This election year is expected to be a record turnout. The polls may be swamped and long lines are likely. Polls close at 7pm on election day so voting early offers an opportunity to avoid waithig 4-5-6 hours in line. If it is your first time voting the experience is priceless, go in personif you can. ALSO check online to be sure that you are regestered. Many states drop voters after failure to vote in 1-2 prior elections!

If you are disabled, above age 60, you won't be able to vote in your precinct because you are out of state and can't get there. It's not wrong.

Nope its not wrong at all. I'm 22 and I can tell you from experience that I felt proud to be an American when I voted for John Kerry. I will vote for Obama at the polls on election day because its all part of the experience.
