Great work! Ever try letting the keg come back down to your upper chest and then generating the momentum through your body? I see you doing that and instantly becoming more explosive with keg presses.
Good song and good job on the keg lift. I do a lot of kettlebells, stones, tire flips, etc. but I have not worked out with a keg. Are they expensive? Do you just get em at the liquour store?
With a anything. I learned the powerlifts without any formal training, but I wouldn't try the Olympic lifts without professional supervision. There's only one place in London that does as far as I'm aware and I'm torn between starting that and MMA/Boxing with some friends. My part time job won't pay for both. Any that's neither here nor there. Yeah, I suppose I was asking if you could do the C & J and Snatch in general.
I've done very little of both.My best clean is 260 lbs..but that is with absolutely no training on the lift.I always thought if I trained the clean I could get 3 plates on it.
You really made that keg look easily, but yeah I can only imagine how the balance must feel, you have some great strength all around when it comes to pressing things overhead, nice music, and nice bloopers ;)
I think the world reocrd in the super heavy class isn;t even over 600, 585-570 I think, so in the 220 or 198 class they still may be in the high or low 400s.
It's fun to see you lift something unusual like a keg, but I have no frame of how heavy it is because I've never lifted a keg.
I love '80s music! Although this is one of the lesser songs from the era, it's still a welcome change from most people's video music. Maybe you could throw in some "I love Rock n Roll" or "Whip it"?
The water makes it way harder. Read an article on a making an 8 ft long PVC pole, capped at both ends, and filled with water. The thing weighed only about 50 pounds, but because of all the sloshing, it required great strength to stabilize and lift it. Which I guess should should promote a more well-rounded, toughened muscle structure.
The 80s are my favorite period for music, but my favorites wouldn't be appropriate for lifting videos (like The Cure, Morrissey) so I didn't recommend those.
Hey your the first to say you like the soundtrack, cool.I'm going to be doing some off beat soundtracks from the 70's and 80's in future videos...people are either gonna love'em or hate'em!
Thanks Dan,yeah it's one of the standard strong man lifts. The weight of the keg isn't a problem,it's the awkward feel of it and the fact that water is splashing around inside. You wouldn't have a problem with it as strong as u are.....you should get one and try it.
Thanks Justin..strongman usually has alot of lower back movements like stones and deadlifting and I don't have the best lower back.I'm good at pressing movements like keg, stone press, log press and such....you never know though....maybe:)
I cringed at the end , dude! Did you ruin your rack?

Thanks man! No I haven't tried that.I'm not sure if I have the flexibility in my shoulders to get the keg to rest on my chest.

The keg is hard because it wants to roll out of your hands and the water makes it hard to balance...it's not easy.
Yeah I love the 70's and the 80's stuff.I'm gonna do some different soundtracks....thanks for the response!
