There was an episode of Mythbusters were Adam and Jamie tested Tesla's famous "Earthquake Machine". Supposedly, Nikola Tesla had discovered how to tune a mechanical oscillator to the exact resonant frequency of the building he was in, which caused it to shake violently and nearly collapse. I believe the story to be true, with this video backing up the idea.
@Nabo00o ohh yea like give the whole earth wireless power, if u make the tesla magnifying transmitter. i show a basic 20 ft transmission if u want to see one avenue of resonance. you are soo right! it improves efficientcy as well.
good vid, i was watching something where through the same thing they used to break glass, if you could tune it to the same resonance as a metal object is, you could destroy it....its crazy
@Finixlives depends on the steel. as you dial into its frequency, it shutters...defending itself, much like planet earth. that is why it used for very very extreme chores and heavy duty. A fantastic example, is welding a unibody vehicle...hours into cool down, oit blew light bulbs in the shop..and never made the inaudible noise again. Every day people encounter it every day..and do not want to acknowledge the invisible.
As for Edison, I don't really have much good to say about that guy - I think he got more praises than he actually deserved (true back then, still true today).
He also theorized that a similar device (larger) could theoretically be created to resonate the Earth and cause it to resonate to a point of complete obliteration. Tesla was a very formidable genius inventor (was ahead of his time). To this day, several of his experiments with resonance still baffle scientists including the wireless transmission of AC.....
I'll finish up your story with Telsa being financially ruined and then crushed by international banker JP Morgan as he promoted his new lap dog, Thomas Edison. They established General Electric (the biggest multinational military contractor in the world) and have been suppressing free-energy technology ever since. Thanks JP, you're right up there with the worst people ever to set foot on the planet earth.
@nlimchua hey man if u want to see some teslas wireless experiments and resonance just check out my youtube. i got a 20 ft wireless demostration with a florecent tube lighting up and also show teslas one wire experiments.thanks for knowing about tesla! what you said is so true!
@boxa888 sorry to bust your bubble. But I just watched your vid and it needs more work! Everything is way too dark, except for a few sparks here or there, you don't see anything else. FYI, I've done wireless power transmission too with Mosfets, no sparks, no noise - just plain power transmission - and light fluorescent tubes too. Will post in the future. I can send pix if you want them.
@nlimchua Tesla will live on forever because everything that he has done we are using today and there is alot to come. too bad some of it can be used for bad like sonic weapons
in the early 1900's, Nikola Tesla conducted massive experiments that centered around resonance. One of his early labs was in (what is now) Houston St., NY (in downtown Manhattan). He created a device that he buried underground that resonated several city blocks - people thought there was an earthquake !! cont'd....
@op684 At school Mr Radcliff was a showman. He got us all listing intently for the tiny sound the flame would make when it went out. Of course it was a massive BANG! and we all jumped out of our skins.
So it's true, if you used 1 billion watts of amplification directed into the earth, it would cause an unnatural earthquake ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I wish he was my Physics teacher, man i would love to be in his class...

is there such thing as negative resonance and if so, what would it do to the glass or object?

@TheNuclearWatermelon
They downplayed that a whole lot, just like they have done with everything else that borders the edge of conventional accepted science.
Resonance has immense possibilities...
