  • What about let statements?

  • i actually learned this shit

  • STILL CONFUSED

  • @risquecat ur a dumbass

  • @26Turk and your a sack of dog shit.

  • I think i failed my first math test in grade 10. ): Not gonna let that happen again. My teacher cant teach at all... SHE HAS A MAN ACCENT!!

  • why do they teach us thing well probably never use ever again in life...waste of brain capacity.

  • Your "Y's" are horrible man. Work on ur handwriting!

  • I wish I had found this earlier than tonight , test tomorrow. Pretty bad I learn more in 2-3 of these videos than in 10 math classes.

  • lols i have an exam at 10:00 that will prevent me from taking remedial college math Damn i wish i had been watching these back in 07!!!

  • Thumbs up if you have a math test today, and this is the first time you bothered studying!

  • Wow, these are so easy, the only problems I get stuck on are on age word problem like : Five years ago, Tom was one third as old as his father was then. In 5 years, Tom will be half as old as his father will be then.

  • @ELTORTUGA5150 i know i get the same problem on my final :(

  • shame, I still didn't get it

  • these are really calming and helpful, thanks a lot

  • Please help idg how to use this wif money

  • Hold 8 he Jacks Off.

  • Finals is comming up this week so this website helped alot

  • @leeboyy1 You're probably going to fail english too. Them* Going to*

  • GRRRR WHOEVER INVENTED MATHS I WANT TO KILL THEN RIGHT NOW! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND I AM SO GUNA FAIL MY EXAM

  • aww man i don't get this at all after 1:55

  • @oEREBUSz substitution method? he just brought that second formula and replaced it with x in the first formula O_O

  • @oEREBUSz he skipped combine like terms where u get the numbers in order and then solve them.

so when he sais (3y-4)+y=16, the next thing he skipped was to show us 3y+y-4=16. which brought you to the next step 4y-4=16. hope this helps

  • @halejet13 i know i was like waithe forgot 1 step

  • k this makes sense but what if you don't have the overall # to begin with?

  • Your tutoring program is somewhat good, but if you do not un-plug this teacher, noone will be able to learn correctly. Remember, this is a tutoring program, not a math speedway. Whenever you correct this problem let me know so I can re-purchase.

  • boring fççk of

  • still mind fucked can any one solv this.....' the roots of the quadratic equation 2x^2-9x+k=0 arem/2 and m-3 find the value of k.

help me please im falling apart here!!!

  • This helps but not alot because not all word problems you don't solve like that. I know everyone who watches the video is trying to get help but do any of you know any other sites for word problems ? I am trying to pass the ASVAB for the Air Force and word problems are the only problem I am having.

  • @cortes1988 me too! ^_^ i have a book call McGraw-hills Asvab really good you should get it of course its no better then any you tube video but it helps you and gives you more info about the arms forces anyways good luck!

  • @juanlmes I had that book but it wasn't mine. I now have the ASVAB for Dummies with the cd it's really good as well and it also helps it has alot of practice test plus a AFQT as well. I have everything set except for the word problems. I need more improvement in those. good luck to you as well.

  • @klarko teachers everywhere i know of dress formal except my TA teacher

  • thanks it helps me!

  • you talk way to fast holy crap.

  • thanx

  • My math teacher sucks, thanks a lot!

  • 2:39 why he look like he just murdered somebody?

  • do teachers in america always dress formal?

  • @Klarkao Usually, yes.

  • @Klarkao not all of my teachers, but it really depends on what state your at

  • His voice is so BORING

  • @TheDoctorOfWhoville

  • Thank! That helped a lot!

  • lol wonderful 5th grade :D

  • @Wrapped01

FUCK YOU WANA FIGHT I LIVE IN MIAMI

  • @comment69873 Sure give me your address you troll dickhead

  • sorry still dont understand.....

  • @cookiedough9329

    STFU FAG

  • This guy uses the substitution method of solving linear equation. But there are 2 more methods for solving linear equation i.e The Cross Multiplication method & The Elimination Method. But I appreciate his way of teaching. Good & keep it up

  • this guy might have saved my life at least 12 times

  • He just needs to use improper English to cater to the audience that is learning, it doesn't matter....as long as someone learns from it, what is the big problem??

  • '

    this sentence is still wrong,,,

the sum of two numbers ( ARE ) 16 is a right sentence,,,

the sum of two numbers ( IS ) 16 is a wrong sentence,,,

    ARE is right,,,

    IS is wrong,,,

  • @bestamerica stfu

  • @ScabiesRat

    FUCK YOU MOTHAFUCKER

  • @bestamerica You are wrong. The focus of the sentence is 'sum', it is singular therefore is is used. 'Of two numbers' is just extraneous information. You would never say, "the sum are 16." The correct grammar is "the sum is." Now if it was sums, then it would be, the sums are.

    Good try though. :)

  • @Davidc11390 STFU YOU FAGOT

  • @bestamerica

    SUCK MY DICK FAGOT

  • @comment69873 lol mega fucking rage ftw

  • i would have used the equation:

x+(3x-4)=16 , so you would get x=5 and then you substitute x in "3x-4" which gives you the other number. We didd't learn this method you told in my 7th grade class, but...

  • thx it realy helps alot

  • better to use a real life situation. didnt help me at all... thanks anyways

  • thank you I thought i was screwed because i didn't take my notes in algebra... again

  • You have my thumbs up.

  • Thank you soo much..!!! my teacher has been teaching that for almost a month && i never understood...now I doo!!! LIFE SAVERS..1!!! THANKS-

  • ahhhh????? =(

  • @ 1:56 I got lost :/

  • @TheBrendaaHernandez all he did was add 3y+y, that is adding like terms. the 3y was in the parenthesis, and the y was out. he would've multiplied it, but there was an addition sign outside the parentheses .i hope i helped:p

  • @bleedingYOUout that actualy helped thanx

  • i don't get it

  • ummmmm?

  • What a stoner

  • i feel less stupid watching these

  • I do understand but I need the thirth variable

  • @onthehuntformarco Third.

  • @onthehuntformarco why would there be a third variable, you just confused me lol.

  • tedious, but it really helps.

    kicks my indian teacher's butt.

  • @piratesluvr4lyf lmfao! i know how it feels to have an Indian teacher, totally agree :P

  • i didn't get this at all im lost :(

  • this didn't help at allll grrr

  • THANK YOU! :)

  • man its good that this guy shows no emotion this type of thing actually makes you pay attention to him...good job man

  • @Michaelslegend what narmattrum said.

  • durrrrr durrrrrrr durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  • ok right over my head

  • thats rediculous

  • @unpetroleum so is your spelling

  • why do you substitute ??

  • this guy is so enthusiastic!

  • @alphamale442 I think hes trying to speak slow and clearly :P

  • @alphamale442 It's math....not drama.

  • WTF 1y if u leave y alone you should know that beside y is an 1 .

  • he did not say 1y if you go back and watch open your eyes and ears

he said use x "and" y he used ", "not 1"!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hahaha

  • HoSayLiaoLah- 1y= y. think of it as 1 times y. 1 times y= y. so its just. y. hahaha theres no need for a 1 there because when you put y or x or z or f its understood theres a 1 infront of all those variables. u say 5y or 8y, because you need to let yourself know there is 8 y's, instead of just 1.

  • At 2.05, the teachere seems to be suggesting that 3y + y is 4y. I understand that 3y + 1y is 4y. But y is 3y + y = 4y?

  • 1y is the same thing as y. You just don't put the 1 in front of y b/c there is already a y there that represents 1. You write down 2y or 5y because we don't want to write yy or yyyyy. And writing down 1y is a waste of time in the eyes of a prof. or teacher. Hopefully you understand that.

  • @HoSayLiaoLah 1y is the same thing as saying y

  • you are sooo cool guy.

  • thank God for nerdy people

  • pretty good.. thank you!!

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you so much!! I almost got confuse, when u did the (3y-4)+y=16 I was like where did u get 4y, but now i get it, u add 3y + Y and u get 4y-4=16 Gosh im so dumb lol..]

  • ur a bad teacher u go to fast

  • Haha, he's not a bad teacher, you are just dumb as hell

  • @FadedHolySoulja holy crap, I just looked at your account and it says you are 19, I'm 13 and have a test on this tommorow, no offense

  • uhh it dont get no simplifier than this, and btw you can pasue the video

  • i wish we were doing this in math!! ughhh my word problems are SO HARDD :(:(:(:(

  • danke schoen!! Dass war so nett, ich verstehe jetzt! =D

  • I would be super happy if someone could answer this please..!!

Rehman invests his summer earnings of $3050. He invests part of the money at 8%/year, and the rest at 7.5%/year. After 1 year, these investments earn $242 in simple interest. How much did he invest at each rate?

  • I could be wrong, but I would try something like this: use x for one amount, and (3050 - x) as the other. So it would look like this:

    0.08x + 0.075(3050 - x) = 242

    Solve for x. etc.

  • I still dont get it

    i am so dumb

i understand elimination and substitution, just i cant figure out how to get the world problem

  • OMG same

  • Same here, i get the elimination and substitution methods

  • thnx this was really helpful id forgotten how to do this!!!

  • Bravo bravo i am going to pass my regents tomorrow afternoon

  • this guy looks like zack morris

  • okay how did you go from 3y -4 to 4y-4?

  • basically you combine like terms them use addition or subtraction substitutions to solve for the rest of the equation. (3y-4) + y = 16 , add y to 3y which equals 4y them of course finish the original operation in the parenthesis now you have 4y - 4

  • Do you know how to change the default style for equations?

I want that all equation are written in Cambria Math, but not in italic: do you know how can I avoid the italic default setting?

    Thanks!

  • what? but i do it another way and can stil get the same answer. MUST we do it this way? its sorta confusing to me.

  • There is more than one correct way to solve a system of equations. Elimination is only one of the ways. So it is entirely possible that you solved this in a different way and still ended up with the same answer.

  • Omg. Ive been using these videos since a month ago and my grades just took off like a rocket!

  • thanks

  • very basic

  • Thanks for the basics.
