The worldwide numbers include AFRICA where polygamy is the cultural norm...whereever you have a population with high levels of promiscuity, you have high rates of AiDS. But in the USA, the highest rate of new AIDS infections is youong gay men age 18-25. The next highest is drug users---I guess incudes heterosexuals. Women are just not hard wired to be promiscious like that....which is why lesbians are not a target group for AIDS education.
