  • 36:14 "What I do know is that the next generation of these leaders will be something involving mobile, local and social - which are the terms we use today for the way people live and work" -- Eric Schmidt.

There it is. There's the next frontier, gentleman. Start your Apps!

  • Salesforce is going to be the shorting opp of this decade look at this hype what does Stevie Wonder have anything to do with cloud??? Look at these "televangelist" tent events where potential investors come like sheep to the slaughter. Dont get me wrong they have a legitimate product and service, but their company has just been insanely overvalued due to massive hype from people like Cramer. Disclosure: I am short CRM

  • 31:00 to hear Schmidt say Steve Jobs was the best CEO.

  • @techmetta He worked as a boar member for a while and its very normal for him to admire a genius like Steve but the fact is that Eric is gonna be even better :))

  • blah blah cloud mobility blah kiss each other's tush and never a question about a SF app for Android.

  • Schmidt is a fakkin' genius.

  • Funny Eric says that people prefer to have all the complex stuff hidden when Android has succeeded because you CAN do all the complex stuff. It's not a UI controlled by the manufacturer like Apple where you have to do remedial work before you can get into the core.

Windows is still the industry standard. If you have serious work to do, you will still use Windows because you also need to be able to get into the core. If you have media based work you use Apple because the program does the work.

  • minute 50... that's bad

  • Palin jokes/insults...WIN

  • @TheGhid

    What time?

  • @tipoomaster Cant remember it was Schmidt though...

  • @slagcity all you care about is shit tech. So shut up.

  • Marc needs to STFU and let Eric finish his sentences.

  • You said Obama has difficulty creating jobs because he has a hostile congress... where is the accountability (value the educational skills... lol) of his first two years when he had EVERYTHING he wanted with a Democratic controlled congress? Eric knocked Ballmer and Palin for "competence/skills" but gives the ineffective leaders of his persuasion a free pass. Com'on guys, the system wont change until EVERYONE is accountable!

  • @jjbpaca The first 2 years, Democrats barely had a majority in the Senate and Republican Senators would constantly fillibuster every vote. Also even dems cannot make 100% of their senators agree on important things cause they always have 1 or 2 that were corrupt.

  • great to hear that Android Ice Cream Sandwich is coming soon :)

  • Schmidt seems like a great man. I'm a fan of him after watching this, particularly after he gives Steve Jobs props for his work. I'm not an apple guy (anymore), but it shows character.

  • Boy, they love themselves, don't they?

  • androidddddddddddddddd

  • Truly an inspiration.

  • What is a salesforce?

  • @maw4bc said "Jobs best ceo of last 50 years?!?! Sam Walton would have something to say about that"

While Jobs comment is perhaps debatable, Sam Walton? What industry did he change? There were many cheap department stores and warehouses before Walmart. He did what others did better and cheaper.

That's not enough to be in Jobs' league I think. Jobs had a big impact on several industries all through being several steps ahead of others.

  • @TheEthanbernal Being CEO isn't all about changing industry (Though Sam did on MANY fronts). If you want to say Jobs was the best innovator of last 50 years I would possibly understand that. Sam completely changed the way products were distributed, changed logistics of "big business", and understood social/demographics before any of his "competition". I believe you are oversimplifying how complex it was to do what he did.

  • Jobs best ceo of last 50 years?!?! Sam Walton would have something to say about that

  • @maw4bc Sam Walton is smalltime compared to Steve jobs are you kidding

  • @PancakePlease you can't be serious. If Sam Walton were alive today he would be worth well over $100 billion. He completely changed the way business worked. To say he is "small time" compared to Steve Jobs makes you sound ignorant.

  • @maw4bc I have to rescind my original argument. Sam Walton made extraordinary changes, no doubt. I'm not downplaying his work or his influence. But he did it in the business model and retail business realm. Steve Jobs has as much a profound influence and change on technology. One can try and make the comparison of which is more influential but that's something that's incalculable. 2 different ball games.

  • @PancakePlease Agree 100%

  • we may not have been having this conversation as a country but ive been having it by myself lol! i used to work at a hospital and about 5 monoths ago i notices a paradigm shift it ALL of the employees. idk what exactly it was but all of their normal thought changed 57:55

  • ive been saying this the whole time. i knew it was possible before, i knew it was happening when it happened and i was pissed when it just happened anyways 56:16

  • lmao he's talking about the usa here and but he didnt want to say it. its also funny that he started saying this right at the time 51:50.

  • china has concentrated all the workforce in their country. if thats not true how come europe AND the usa r in trouble? hes right that we need 50:33 to get those jobs back in the usa. i dont know how to explain it anymore that just the answer

  • 43:00 the tech bubble is bad because of apple. they're prices are artificially high and they dont need the charge that much

  • Extremely informative discussion.

  • "just fix it" it sounds like eric has heard enough excuses from business ppl. and, to me, when i say things liek that it's bcuz whoever i was talking to, themselves, doesnt get it and wont for a long time (if ever). time to get those ppl out

  • Sarah Palin comment was odd, she would make 100% better leader than O

  • MC hammer? Wow, i could skip all these crap talks and side talks, just to see MC hammer perform live!

  • Interesting thoughts...

  • What a disingenious intro. "If you count 1%, its actually alot". So stupid. The world doesn't deserve a piece of the pie. It deserves the ENTIRE FUCKING BAKERY!!

  • @trivett831 yup. the world deserves to have every company designate all of its operations toward humanitarian efforts (ie, 100% rather than 1). except that, if they did, you wouldn't be able to read this -- your ISP would be busy saving a whale.

  • 0:31:00

  • How much of 1% equity of Google?

  • Marc and Eric thank you for posting this. The next revolution is Transmedia Brandcasting or the monetization of streaming video.I will be Presenting at the I-Strategy Global Media Conference in Atlanta September 13 and 14th. 2011 Would love to monetize Youtube with a Global Social Concert Series called 2011 Songs for Africa to celebrate UN Resolution 64/169.
