  • She has a baby asshole go for a different shark next time. And no I'm not a extreme animal lover.

  • To me a shark is a shark, idc what kind of shark it is, if it gets close enough to bite, id poke at it with my knife too.

  • Why on earth would you poke a nurse shark with your knife, you stupid mongo ? You just uploaded this video because this is the only one you have ... PADI or whatever association should get rid of your Diving License. Such a Shame !!!!! boooohoooo

  • and trentend it with a knife lolz

  • lol!!!!!!!!! did u beat the shark with a shirt?? l

  • Nice job getting your bag back, kinda scary. i did enjoy the footage!

  • @TheREALbpk

im 14 and i free dive almost everyday and whats illegal is to shoot a shark you fucking ignorant prick. if you spear fish you should be one of the people who respects the ocean and the things in it.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheREALbpk Who, in their right mind, would shoot a nurse shark! You free divers are the most arrogant idiots I have ever heard from in my life. I ahve been going to the Fla Keys with tanks for over ten years and have never been a laughing stock. Just because I enjoy SCUBA doesn't make me less special than you. At least I'm not a rude, arrogant, jerk.

  • @cblossom93 Spear-fishing while scuba diving is -not legal throughout the US; the state of Florida is one of the few places in the US where you are allowed to capture any type of marine life while using tanks. I do feel that it takes the sport out of spear fishing though.

  • @cblossom93 I couldn't agree more. I do BOTH... Who cares HOW you get the fish... SCUBA is nice because you can stay down for so much longer...

  • @TheREALbpk If you are so scared of sharks that you need to shoot a nurse shark to feel safe, maybe you should look into another sport. If you claim to be a real free diver and think less of people who use tanks, just imagine how many real free divers are laughing at you for shooting a nurse shark...

  • @hebe657 I SHOT NURSE SHARKS I SHOT A TIGER AND A HAMMER HEAD so suck my dick you soft bitch ! i got the pictures to prove it...i do it with other free divers too so who is really getting the last laugh fuck you and fuck nature

  • @hebe6570 im not scared of shit excepts gay people and bullsharks and makos ...conversation over

  • @TheREALbpk Conversation continued: it sounds like you are scared of sharks; if you fear those two that you mentioned, then I'm sure you also fear tiger sharks and great white. You must live way out in the country though to fear gay people, I bet you and all your neighbors have a constant sunburn (mostly on your neck though). Grow up or quit hunting where real men hunt.

  • @TheREALbpk you DO realize you told a WOMAN to "be a man", right?

  • @TheREALbpk I see people diving with tanks in FL keys, been seeing it my whole life, never seen anyone laugh.

  • spearfishing with scuba tanks is immoral and illegal

  • crazy vid. dont listen to these wanna be spearos. I do both scuba and freedive. They are different sports for different kinds of game. There is no difference if laws and regulations are followed. Is a boat dragging a huge net around grabbing everything more harmful than a person spearing 5 legal sized fish a day? Ill never understand the hate for bubble blowers. Do deep sea fishermen hate fishermen trolling for tuna? They are different activities!

  • Brutal

    shark

    attack

    (that's awesome)

  • Give the guy a break. The fish got his bag and he took it back.

  • spearfishing is just that with tanks or just one breath one shot one kill why fight and talk shit

  • i think you were not only polite in getting your fish back, but smart as well. if you had let him keep it, he would've died trying to ingest it. beautiful shark with a silly personality :)

  • Hey awesome vid just not too sure if it's a grey nurse I'm use to the roughly 3-4m ones were I live

  • why dont u give some fish to him :(

  • If this person wanted to go free-diving then she easily could have. That's the thing, everyone can make their own choices. She chose to SCUBA spearfish rather than free dive. Do not be rude to someone for making the choice that they wanted to make. It's is not anyone's position to tell others how to live their life. Be happy to be alive and don't argue about SCUBA vs. free diving over the internet.

  • Just realized you are a woman.......just take my comment to read how disgusted I am with anyone who harrasses living creatures in their environment. You are a piece of S****.

  • The video would have been even better if this docile nurse shark bit off your tiny little peanut sized nuts....and pencil sized dick.

  • From this idiot's logic, I should be allowed to go hunting for COWS with an Uzi since I hardly ever do it. I suppose if you can't shoot anything with SCUBA, then we should let you have a few puffer fish.

  • hahaha thats funny, i would have let him at least one fish after he drop the bag, in respect. Haha and i wonder does sharks taste good ?

  • quite an adventure I'd say .. reminds me of how scared I was snorkeling for the first time in Maldives!

  • Well done to the shark i say spear fishing on scuba hellman that just cowardly !

  • I'm a Freediver and I'm not a Jerk. That ninja shark is though.

  • misnamed video. should be called silly people who cant be bothered learning to hold their breath , steal fish and torment harmless shark

  • Ive had 2 of them sharks come at me while i had a bleeding fish on the end of my spear...I had to kick them to get them away haha

  • poachers

  • Comment removed

  • @Xxlux well dude, I freedive as well. I also shoot fish on a tank and will continue to do so even more so after the loss of a friend free diving. and you do that? No way, THATS EXTREME!!!

  • Whats with everyone trashing divers? Cuz they get more fish? I do both but come on guys. After losing friends I feel free diving is not worth the risk involved. I know 90% of you guys talking shit are not divers and dont know what you are talking about. And yes, it is legal in USA idiots.

  • if you think about it the idea of spearfishing is to catch the fish that you want so weather you go free diving or scuba at the end the fish will become a delicious dish....

so there is no point in making it illegal...

  • I'd like to say as a spearo that freedives exclusively that I do find using SCUBA to be much less sporting than freediving. With the latter, it's your athletic prowess versus that of the fish. If you're an unathletic piece of shit, you don't shoot much. If you train well and know the waters, you do. So yeah, I just see spearfishing with SCUBA as equivalent to doping in major league sports, but even more exaggerated.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah i agree ban the the scuba goons

  • all spear fishing is cheating, rod and reel all the way. i cant see the skill in spearing besides holding your breath

  • @bugsone15 spearfishing= hold ur breath, aim, get close without scaring. rod= hold a pole and wait then pull it in....i see less skill in the second

  • @trilogyfilm ur an idiot

  • @bugsone15 hahahaha, brainfart much?

  • @bugsone15

Dumbest comment ever. How is putting a piece of bait on a hook and dragging it behind a boat more skilled than freediving/spearfishing? You can't even select what you catch. The skill is in stalking, in selecting the target, in actually hitting the target, and it recovering the target, all while holding your breath. Not while sitting comfy on a boat with one beer in hand and reeling up with the other.

  • @Panthalassia13 im sorry u just have no idea. u clearly dont fish and u were frequently dropped on ur head as an infant

  • @bugsone15

Great argument douche bag. You really hurt my feelings. I'm starting to think this has nothing to do with fishing. You just like the fruity colors of your plastic baits. I clearly don't fish YOUR way, and I'm damn proud of that. Why don't you go pollute the ocean with some more monofilament line and leave this thread to reasonable people. Do us a favor. Wear a condom cuz we don't need any more of you roaming the earth.

  • spearfishing on a tank???.... the less said about that the better..... Heh but i read your comments, and yes probably the freediving community is a bit against bubble blowers towing around a gun. I guess its seen as cheating. Nice video of the shark though and im glad you enjoy the water. Perhaps you should try some freediving and see if the freedom of the sport hooks you too. :-)

  • spearfish NOT TANK USE

    MOT FUC

  • this is so cool ! why the shark is not attacking you guys ?

  • Having said that, I bet many of the people who cussed you out also eat fish at restaurants and I can guarantee you that gill nets and drift nets miles long are not exactly sporting either...

As for legality of scuba spearing, the reason many people call it illegal is because MANY other countries have outlawed it due to depleting fish stocks. The US has a reputation of being excessive and wasteful with natural resources. Hopefully we'll catch up to the more conscientious countries.

  • The US Regulates it's recreational fishing industry as well as or better than any of the places i've been. I have been diving in many countries and most of them have no fish. The local people catch or spear(mostly by free-diving) anything large enough to eat. In the Fla. Keys there are always nice fish to watch or to occasionally shoot b/c of the conservation and regulations on taking game fish.

  • I am aware of that since I grew up on the Mediterranean and now work for a Florida Wildlife Conservation Agency. Between the commercial and recreational fishing, I am not convinced that the measures we've taken suffice. Also, don't forget that all those other countries you speak of have cultures MUCH older than this one and have therefore been fishing their waters for hundreds of years longer than this newborn nation.

Cblossom, I'm not against spearing fish. I do it and enjoy it.

  • one thing i have seen with conservation agencies is that they make semi-pointless rules about taking game. i dive, freedive, spearfish at catalina island off of SoCal and the population of fish is going down and down because there are so many people out there who get their limit of BARELY legal sheephead and calico, obviously hurting the population. they want to shut down certain areas so that those fish will become plentiful again in those areas and then spill over into the adjoining areas

  • where you can hunt. only one thing wrong with that, these fish are territorial! they arent gonna just go find a new home. if they would just raise the size limit to maybe 16 or 18in with calico, and raise the sheephead up to 18-20in i believe the population issue would resolve itself. i see way too many people brining up five calico that they have to stretch just to make it a legal 12inches...

  • However, many people (myself included) think it should be done without scuba. Thankfully we've outlawed gill nets in Florida and this country is on the right path regarding regulation of fisheries!

Kudos for enjoying the water and hopefully contributing to conservation once in a while and apologies for the rudeness you have encountered. Manners can be hard to come by these days.

  • @cblossom93 your both googans i free dive spear fish and kill lion fish like a pro anything that can be eaten and looks good to me gets shot if legal

  • @Panthalassia13

FL has one of the most regulated fisheries you will come across.... a bit too regulated

  • @flspearo

That is a matter of opinion, and undoubtedly one of someone who wants to kill more fish. I get it, I want to eat more fish too, but if you see the barren seascapes of some other countries that did not properly protect their resources, you just might change your tune.

  • @Panthalassia13 its not a matter of opinion its a fact, they have the most regulated waters. if you have a fish an inch over or libster 1/4 under chances are you will end up in a courtroom somplace and are liable to lose your gear, have boat impounded etc. depending on the severity of the situation.

  • @flspearo

I get your point man. What I was saying is that it is a "matter of opinion" whether or not they are "TOO regulated" as you said in the previous quote. I know that it is easy sometimes to make a mistake on size and that there are honest spearos who just make a mistake on size, but there are also plenty of idiots looking to bag anything in sight. I don't blame the government for trying to protect our natural resources. i blame the morons who ruin it for the rest of us.

  • @Panthalassia13 Gill nets aren't sporting at all, but they are meant for fishing commercially and in other words for business purposes. I don't support the volume of fish taken from the oceans by neighboring countries in places where we (US citizens) are held to different standards. Spear-fishing while scuba diving is -not legal throughout the US; the state of Florida is one of the few places in the US where you are allowed to capture any type of marine life while using tanks.

  • scuba tanks + big gun = shooting fish in a barrel

cblossom93 I understand your problem not being on the coast, but pools are a great place to practice your freediving for when you are in the big blue. The rudeness you have encountered from freedivers may be due to the fact that this is considered cheating and unsporting in our world. Beyond that, it's absolutely no challenge. Like sitting in an orange grove with a high powered scoped rifle and picking off dear...

  • theres a difference with scubaspearing and snorkelspearing.

    snorkelspearing is respectful.

    scubaspearing is greed.

  • yeah i think scuba diving and spearing should be offt! its just greatly unfair. spearing with snorkel is great but the diving and spearing is like sending a tank in to the water. thats nowhere near sporting like! lame vid

  • this is illegal

  • what did these ppl do to make all u ppl so aggresive? did they shoot u in the ass or something? fuck.

  • ok let's everybody report this video !

  • y report it? whats wrong with it? they didt kill the shark or anything like that. they tryed to get the fish back. i dont see the problem with that ass wipe

  • HAHAHA!!!!! Listen to the beeping noise at 25 secs! That's a rapid accent warning! Hope you yo-yo bubble blowing spearos get bent! You tools give us free diving spearos a real bad name. Bet your wishing you didn't post this vid now eh? Thumbs down everywhere!

  • I have removed many comments from freedivers cussing and calling me names. I have enough class not to cuss people I don't know, just because I don't think what they do is cool. Kinda hard to practice free diving in the middle of the US. I go to the keys once a year and enjoy SCUBA and catching a few lobster and shooting fish that I can't enjoy here. I have never been treated so rudely as I have by free divers. I wonder if being a jerk is a prerequisite for free diving?!

  • Regardless of how rarely you get a chance to go diving or spearfishing. Spear Scuber diving is very illegal and you are in the wrong.

Im sorry to say but you do all the flameing you get.

  • @blakie49 Spearfishing while SCUBA diving is not illegal in the good ol USA! I follow the laws and enjoy every minute of it.

  • @blakie49 spearing with scuba is nowhere near illegal because what if your in 170ft of water (i know thats extreme but i know people who do it) its not like you can freedive.

  • @cblossom93

So many freedivers get upset cause we see scuba hunters like cheaters. Could be legal in USA, but we think is no ethical.

I never saw a wahoo or tuna caught by a scuba sucker. They just get easy reef fish like parrots or hogfish. What's the challenger on that?

And, no, is not a prerequesite to be a jerk for freediving. You just need good lungs, proper breath tech and biggers cojones to go down

  • yeah johnniwonton1976 you tell him mate!!!

  • Agreed! Two thumbs down here too! Scuba and spearing????? Not the way.

  • Serves yourselves right spearfishing on SCUBA should be made illegal. It is where I live and I totally agree with Johniwonton.

Andthechickenwins would you have been spearing on SCUBA though?

What a pitty the shark did not bite you, then you may have learnt your lesson!

  • Wow great footage

I would have been so scared!

  • hahahhahaha

  • I have to agree with some here:

two thumbs down for spearfishing with scuba!

  • Boooo... i agree with SHAYNECUNNINGHAM. Booo...

  • scuba tanks and spearfishing... you dont deserve to be called a spearfisherman

  • @shaynecunningham Scuba spearfishing, yes i who does it even find it cheating, i also free dive but, freedive spearfishing is cheating too, the normal way to catch fish which is a challenge is deep sea fishing from a boat, no gun so swimming underwater, but scuba spearfishing and freediving is really fun so cut the crap n stop complaining

  • @RstyH00k complaining? stating the truth. freedive spearfishing is cheating? you, my friend, are an idiot. i love scuba diving, but not with a gun. its not fair to the fish. i could care less if you agree with me.

  • @shaynecunningham spearfishing is spearfishing either way you do it, so enjoy the sport. And go suck a dick prick.

  • spearfishing with scuba should be illegal

  • It is in a lot of places

  • I think you need to rename this video. The shark didn't attack, you did

  • Put the hands in the mouth.. well it works if u want the bag but not if u wanna lose ur hand omg

  • Good for you!!!!...Serves you right for spearfishing w/ scuba tanks.

  • nice video!hey what is that thing in the back of the shark at 0:46?

  • is her baby shark lol.. when they are born they be riding on her top

  • its a remora

  • thnx!^_^ i know it now bcoz of you!thank you

  • spearfishing with scuba? too easy mate

  • well, if i was u i gotta swim long away, i have phobies by spiders and sharks :S

  • Haha owned by a bad shark :P

  • great fottage

  • Nurse sharks are like the "Clay Akin's" of sharks... a bunch of pussies I tell ya. See ya take your bag back from a megalodon!

  • Next time, you put your hand in his mouth and belive me, he will drop the bag!

  • i dont see why people hate on scuba shooters so much, i freedive spearfish and am not scuba certified but i dont see the big deal, the fish can breath underwater, we cant...most of my dives are in 10ft vis or less so scuba would be nice since its hard to see where the fish are and by the time you find a big one you havta go topside and breathe up. relax guys, in some places spearing without scuba is illegal for safety reasons (oklahoma is one place i know of). bitchin wont change anything

  • its not illegal to spearfish with scuba... but it should be lol

  • Nurse sharks are the deadliest sharks in the water. Very aggressive and very volatile. ...Lol.

  • Lol, well I think you're joking, but I can't fully tell.

Nurse sharks aren't nearly the deadliest, tiger and bullsharks are.

  • Yes, it was a joke. (that's why you see the "Lol" there). I know a lot about sharks. I agree with you about the tiger sharks and bull sharks statement, but you have to admit that when it comes to ferocity....the wobegong tops the list. ;-)

  • "most fish are not attracted to bubble blowing scuba divers with spear guns"..... not true. most fish are very much attracted to the bubbles and with the accuracy and range of spearguns the fish don't stand a chance.

"frowned upon by whom"?????????????? you clearly don't know much about spearfishing. i don't want to waste my time arguing with anyone over the internet so i urge you to google a man named 'art pinder' and try to learn from him.

  • that is illegal to spearfish with scuba

  • no it isn't lol just a cheap way to win

  • depends where you are. it is seriously frowned upon and takes no skill whatsoever. seriously, a 5 year old could do it.... really.

  • "seriously frowned upon" by whom? It takes more skill than dropping a hook with a piece of shrimp in the water and waiting for a bite.... all without littering the sea floor with monofilament fishing line. I really don't see why some people get so uptight about spearfishing on scuba. It may be easier to some degree than free diving, but from personal experience, most fish are not attracted to bubble blowing scuba divers with spear guns.

  • the only fish attracted to the bubbles while you are down there are fish too small that you wouldnt want to shoot them anyway, or fish in a protected area, which you cant shoot anyway....

  • its illegal in australia, i know that much

  • agree wit h TapoRsNapp spearfishing with scuba... what a shame -.-

  • i think you'll find its a lemon shark...not a grey nurse...different heads...grey nurse heads are allot more pointy...longer top jaw than the bottom...cool vid tho :D

  • nurse sharks are not endangered i live in the bahamas and i see them every weekend

  • Ha ha ha cheeky little nurse shark! That was pretty amusing. Keep up the diving and enjoy spearfishing and post some more video's they are fun! Cheers for sharing the moment!

  • shark should have bitten you! spearfish with scuba?

  • Shark ATTACK ?

There was no attack. Just swimming around.

  • You spearfish with scuba gear?

  • wat type of shark is it

  • atlantic nurse shark(Ginglymostoma cirratum)orectolobiformes, they are tipically found in the caribbean and western atlantic, but inhabit other areas of the atlantic, very comon species of the antilles like dominican republic, cuba. jamaica, dominica, puerto rico etc etc etc...

  • god damn scavenger

  • ahhaha so good mad props to u mate

    ahaha

u onwd that shark cant say that has happend to me spear fishing yet, at least now i know what to do

    ahaha

    great video

  • thats cool this summer I was spear fishing I shot a hog snapper and 8ft bull shark came up hit that shark 5 times in the head got to the surface got he fish in the boat turned around to hit hi again he was gone(real nice video)

  • Lucky it's mum didn't turn up and swat you back LOL!! Great Video thanks for sharing it!!

  • lol 0:23 sharks feeling it

  • 0:22 LOL

  • lol

  • i really really wouldnt call that a "shark attack"

more like.. little nurse shark tried to bamboozle my shitty bag o' fish

  • lmao at 00:22

    i love your reaction.

  • DAMN NURSE SHARKS !

  • nice video just be careful out there with those fish on you. couldnt look anymore like a wounded seal if u tried. good job on gettin ur catch back tho lol

  • Yes, thanks for not hurting the shark. You might want to put your catch in a boat if you can...Anyway, good thing you got to keep your dinner. I've had close calls with hungry seals trying to sneak away with my catch.

  • This is actually a male common household television shark. This is most dangerous. others beware, for this shark could swallow your average car whole.

  • That's a female by the way....

  • bad doggie! bad, bad!

  • it's a nurse shark, also big catfish. Will never NEVER bother a scuba diver. Most awesome to see her keeping her cool(the shark that is)

  • I hope your husband was not also scuba diving.

  • I now it's dangerous to keep your fish from being eaten by sharks, but if it is permited, it can be worst. Sharks will be ecouraged for trying it again a second time !

  • I'll be dammned if some punk nurse shark gonna get my catch I wouldnt have killed him but I would have made him think twice before pulling that crap again

  • In the paper today some guy in the solomans who is an experienced spearo got nailed by a small reefy trying to take his catch, he's recovering in hospital. I'd say dont underestimate small sharks like that just for the sake of a couple of fish, you could come out of it worse off than loosing a couple of fish.

  • o come on that shark has gums man they dont even have sharp teeth really

  • LoL Funny shark ! That has ever hapen to me.

  • I've had fights with seals that I thought would go to the death. I've had to buy 3 catch bags on account of them. Cute little guys, till they see you have their dinner.

  • Nice work, thanks for not hurting the shark, gives us divers a bad name. :)

  • The last thing I wanted to do was hurt it. I really enjoyed watching him pace around us for the last 15 minutes of our dive.

  • Are you nuts?!!! I would have let him have the bag!

  • That shark didn't look like he was too happy about you taking back your fish bag.

  • I don't think he was, but we both went home unscathed, so it was a great day!
