  • great piece & performance! congratulations!

  • Hey! Is this, quite wonderful, piece named after the breakfast restaurant in Minneapolis? If so: why?

  • @nyo267n Yes it is! The composer, David Baldwin, is a professor at the University of Minnesota and wrote this piece to depict a typical dining experience at Al’s. He is a regular at the breakfast bar, and even has a personalized coffee cup which has lips protruding out of the side of the cup and reads “PROF LIPS!” Also, our very own tuba player, Brent Harvey, attended the University of Minnesota. Please keep a look out for our upcoming CD release on Delos Records of the remaining movements.

  • @dacapobrass If queing for half an hour is somewhat like being chased by the T. Rex in "The Land Before Time", this music is spot on. Or is he trying to depict the chaos when everyone has to switch their seats?

I, myself, attended UoM last year and I lived just a block away from Al's.

  • Such a wonderful blend! Great job!

  • Love it.

  • Very nice quintet.

    Best compliment's

    Gianni from Italy
