does eco styler olive oil gel help curl the hair because i just begun my transitioning and i still have straight ends from my previous relaxer which is taking forever to come out is the gel oily because i notice i just tried it and my ends are bone straight and the roots have some tight curls.

@comfortblankit40 I have been using eco styler for years, all kinds and they all define your NATURAL curls however if you have perm on the ends, the ends will be straighter and the olive oil probably adds to it. If you are tired of cutting the permed ends off gradually, consider doing the "big chop" and cutting all the perm out. It's the ony way to experience your full head of natural hair quickly and will be easier to manage. Go for it! I love it!

P.s the reason your hair shank so much is because you used the denman brush. That brush adds serious definition but that definition takes away length. Either way stay beautiful.

I think it came out beautiful, and I know you said it was shorter, but sometimes you do want a different look. I was so glad to find this vid, b/c I bought the Eco gel, but really didn't know what to do with it, since it didn't say curl activating gel. I thought it was used to smooth edges or do spiral curls, so I'm glad to see that it helps define curls after a wash. Thanks again!

So you didn't leave conditioner in your hair? Does it leave the little white balls in your hair if you do? It does with mine when I use conditioner.

@crelady i have used a conditioner that left the little white balls in my hair, but it really depends on the kind of conditioner that you use. what kind do you use? I use different ones....herbal essences works well as well as the vo5 conditioners. I also love love love the kiss my face conditioners

my hair texture is a 4 b I think...not really sure. The eco-styler gel is more goopy than it is sticky. I always leave a conditioner on my hair so the gel won't dry it out too bad. I have just started using one part mineral oil one part water as a sprtiz....and my hair is soooooo soft!!! Thee eco-styler gel does not leave any residue on my hair nor build-up. I wash my hair once a week and clarify it every other week. Thanks for all the comments!!

This product did NOT work for my hair. 1) It dried my hair out. It looked fine while it was wet. But once my hair dried, it was a completely different story. My hair looked as if I hadn't put any product in it. 2) I had the HARDEST time washing the crap outta my hair. It left white, crystal looking balls in my hair. I had to wash my hair two times to get it clean. Wonder why it works for everyone else??

@covegirl06 I read somewher before using the eco gel, put some oil on your hair so it wont dry out, as far as the white resdue, you may be using to much, also I use a light conditioner(taliah waajid body mister or anything else) along with the eco gel. And one more thing, it depends on the "hold" of the gel, is the gel like maximum hold? I hope this helps. If not I head Ic Fantasia is the bomb! lol! God bless!

@MizzDivineGenius I assume you've never used the product? What kind of oil should I use? I dont think I own any oil hair products. Anyways, it's a maximum hold. And I heard someone say the gel was a little hard to wash out. Guess I didn't believer her lol. I mean, I didn't think it would be THAT hard to wash out! Luckily, I only paid $3 for it lol.

I love the twa look. If you put a creamy leave-in such as Paul Mitchell's THE CONDITIONER or even one of the curl activators under the ECO gel, it will be soft, also you won't have as much shrinkage.

Let me know how it turns out. By the way, the Generics brand of the PM The Conditioner is only about $6 at Sally's. You can also use a curl activator. I love Care Free Curl Gold Instant Activator, but my hair stays wet almost all day. The PM is a better choice for the winter. Be Blessed!

If you use a leave in conditioner (I use Cantu Shea Butter) underneath Eco Styler Olive Oil gel, it will be very soft. I use it weekly but not without a leave in conditioner underneath or it will be hard.
