Isn't it awesome how we who know how to live and thrive out in the snow can do it and it is such a mystery to those who have never.......... take a look at MY video "inside my tent December 26"
sweet, you have me beat, last year i camped a couple winter nights and only had maybe 6 inches on my tent...lol. IT WAS 20 BELOW zero with the wind chill, and next to a frozen lake!, but i had my U.S. issue sleep system, which is rated to -30, so i was actually unzipped most of the night. I've camped in most situations and conditions, but winter camping is a whole other animal, love it
Shirley, you jest! ... Looks like you got yerself an instant igloo, complete with insulative properties. Now? ... All you need is an avalanche beacon.
I'll be going to Colo, Utah and AZ in the early part of springs. My friends out there I could run into a major snow issues. The last time out there, I asked for snow on the peaks and there 16 inches of white stuff. It was pretty but a lot of snow. I was told if tent holds up and is covered in snow, it becomes nice and warm. I dont know of that's true or not. Makes sense to me. The adventure is what I want
Lookes like an improvement over a plain naked tent ;) i really prefer natural shelters ;) i see no pine or spruce so i recon that a tent is better in that area though, for comfort i mean digging for leafs hehe. Fair enough nice tent!
You may want to go see Shirley before you leave. Look...I don't want to be mean spirited but you must have mentioned your friends name at least a half dozen times along with mentioning that this was your tent at least as often. Would have been nice if you had spoken about your actual experience in the tent dureing the storm (unless you spent the night in Shirly's house).
To end on a positive note...thanks for the 360 degree view. It appears that the tent handled the weight of the snow well.
@ministercreek I am replacing the original Coleman 7001 series poles (which got bent) with Easton aluminum poles. This tent will be back in commission Dear Viewers! :)
@ministercreek Hi i have just bought a Coleman Phact x3 and i was wondering which Easton aluminum poles you bought, where from and how much they cost?
It would be handy to know in case something bad happens to mine.
Would that be your tent in the snow?
A tent? Must be a tent in the snow

With global warming my area gets extreme record breaking storms frequently.
Not sure what to expect during winters/summers anymore.

All this snow came in from the South. Same storm system that brought all that snow to the Carolinas and Virginia!

The poles got bent due to all the snow and ice on the tent. :((
