  • Nice work mate :)

  • this is awesome man, i want to cover this now. 5//5

  • Nice Nordiques shirt, u from Quebec?

  • Not far... Rimouski

  • nice! Moi je suis à Québec!

  • Content de voir que des jeunes comme toi se rappellent des Nordiques! héhéh

  • ghs brite flats are very brite sounding

  • somebody should teach these song slowly for rookies ...!

at least the hard parts....there is people who wnats to improve but don't have resources...!

    well done buddy....!

  • thats not fretless.

  • Frets have shadows and metallic glare. Those are fret lines.

  • it sounds like you have round wounds on you fretless in stead of flat wounds like normal fretlesses have

  • You're right! That particular bass has very little sustain and I have found that using rounds on it helps. Cheers!

  • Most fretless players, like me, that want a brighter sound use roundwounds.Flats are dull and dark sounding. But I also treat my fingerboard with Tung oil which hardens the fingerboard surface so that it resists wear.Stores will always sell a fretless with flats because they don't want to sell a bass with what little wear the roundwounds cause after customers play the instruments.

  • it's definitely a fretless, the slides sound smooth rather than "jumpy".

those are fret markers so you get the same sound but sacrifice less accuracy with your notes. the only disadvantage is a perfectly clean neck with no fret markers looks really awesome.

  • Great stuff, love the enrgy in that song and the bass line really drives it along. Well played.

  • Yes it is. The lines are embedded in the neck

  • super! ton son est parfait...

  • nice cover. i'm still trying to master that song. and btw you have an awesome bass =)

  • THATS NOT A FRETLESS. Nah just kidding. My fretless even has fret markers. Good cover though! :P

  • Nice job, im a huge fan of Geddy Lee's work and you did an awesome job. Keep up the good work!

  • Nice job!!!

  • When I first started watching this, I thought you were a half-step sharp from watching your hands, then I realized it's fretless.

  • tu jou bien ta quel age sa fait combien de temps que tu joue

  • great job man. im still trying to learn this song, but i cant find any tabs that are worth a crap. and btw, thats definitely a fretless dickwads.

  • anyone that sez that isnt a fretless is a knob, liten to that slide, u can only get that sound by sliding on a fretless.

  • btw dude great job. although there were some rough areas, you are the only person on youtube who can correctly play the very first measure on bass. there is NO A sharp.

  • Thanks Dude! It's just soooo fun to have a comment other than "that isn't a fretless"! ;-)

  • lol no problem. i love playing this song too. id post some of my bass playing but i dont have the equipment to record :P

  • that isnt a fretless

  • how do u know? there are fret markers just not frets. otherwise how would u know where to play?

  • On the sides of most fretless necks there are dots where the frets would be.

  • well that's only if there are lined fret markers on the fingerboard. it's tough to keep ur fingers where they need to b with only a dot because you don't look exactly straight down.

  • he's right, look at a gretsch duo jet, that has no fret markers, but it's still fretted. That's a fretted bass, just no fret indicators, it's a start, but a bass without fret lines is a true fretless, and sounds much better for sliding things. ^_^

  • sounds awsome..im just not a big fan of the 5 string basses..good job tho

  • Bon. Un p'tit commentaire en français pour changer... heille! bonhomme... merci b'en pour la détente ! J'avais les nerfs en boule ce soir alors je suis venu te voir "en performance"... et ça m'a fait le plus grand bien !

  • Cool! :-) J'en prépare une autre pour bientôt...

  • Thanks for your comment. Why have a fretless unless it's a completely clear board? Because you have the feel and the sound of a fretless on an instrument that is just easier to play. You can call it cheating if you like, but it suits me. ;-)

  • Is that a quebec nordiques shirt?

  • Yep!

  • Lol, your little finger flick for the flamenco is just so funny looking, keep at it. +) Good job!

  • Fantastic job

  • Look again .... the Bass isn't fretless!!

  • Yes it is! It has fret marks, but no frets.

  • Well played.

  • rock on

  • Awesome.
