This reflects a blatant demonstration of how history is written by the winners. (OK, I know the Americans pulled out of Vietnam, but they ostensibly won the Cold War, and the Vietnamese didn't exactly annex California.) Almost every day here in the UK there is something on TV about Hitler and the Holocaust, and yet I have never seen anything in the papers or on TV regarding this Vietnam holocaust - and that is precisely what it is - the Vietnam Holocaust.

I have personally written to my congressman that we ARE responsible for cleaning up the Agent Orange hotspots! Unfortunately the American people don't make decisions about whether we go to war. i know this discussion happened a while ago, but I just wanted to say its at least nice that obama is president, hopefully ushering in a new era where human ideals are held at the forefront of policy. Bush and his familys, and a lot of people in capitol hill are war mongers. eishenhower warned against the military-industrial complex because it is perhaps the most profitable thing you could have. destroy, then rebuild munitions, destory, repeat. it sucks. and yes, many americans are ignorant :(
