  • Hey!

    I've been doing training at gym 4 times a week doing different squats, cleans, snatches, deadlifts, all major lifts. First 4x3 then 4x10, then i do the lesser muscles. Can i mix HIIT with that kinda of a setup for the remaining days? I've only been jogging and sparring with my friend on the days off the gym. If cant, what would you recommend? My goal is to burn all the spare fat as fast as possible, while still gaining strenght.

  • @Archergod Yup, you certainly can. Just do the walking portion downstairs or on a flat floor possibly.

  • Can HIIT be applied to swimming laps? If it wouldn't be as effective in the water, I had the intention of alternating HIIT workouts with moderate swim workouts for a total of six workouts in a week. Is that advisable?

  • Hi, I lost 70lbs in the past year which Im very happy to say. But I still have a some of that stubburn lower belly fat. Its SO frustrating I HATE it! I'm 5 ft 4 in, 115lbs,& I'm not trying to get under weight but am not satisfied. I want it all gone. I did this HIIT sprinting 3 days this past week & it really makes me sweat!! And I also walk my Chihuahua everyday for 40 mins & eat pleanty of fruits,veggies & never go over 1,200 calories. Will this burn the last bit? Help! Thanks!

    it's my first time i tried this cardio excercise, and it's really hard!

    i could do 5 intervals, the 6th time i had to walk for a minute...

    now i cannot walk normal anymore...!

    I wil do this 3 times a week, the other days i'm doing bodybulding

    My diet is eating more then 300Gr tuna a day and eating as less carbs as i can...

    is this ok? ( its the first time i'm trying to cut.)

  • @KiliNTv I wouldn't eat so little carbs! You should eat something like a 40/40/30 carbs/proteins/fat, your body will be much more effective in the gym and your brain will thank you for giving it the glucose that it needs :) Cutting is about a deficit in calories so just drop your calories a little and keep a good set of macros!

  • @KiliNTv dont eat so much fish. that much can get you mercury poisoning. eat more meats and dairy instead of loading up on fish. all deep sea fish have a ton of mercury, and eating to much can hurt you very badly.

  • Great ideas. QUESTION: if I do this kind of cardio of which is a strain on your CNS, how would I implement this with a weight lifting program that is also intense because the lifting is always to failure. The 2 training methods both tax the CNS, when would you rest if you can give me a recommendation?

  • @tatsumakisempyukaku I don't see why you would logically train to failure.

    Either do a strength routine as a beginner, or if strength is your goal

    Or a hypertrophy routine after you have some strength and if size is your goal...

    Training to failure severely taxes your CNS and has been proven to be ineffective.

  • @funkeydavid The idea is to push yourself. So do whatever feels like your getting somewhere with.

  • @izeizei Yes, you can as a matter of fact that is what I did for the longest time. Just be very careful as the treadmills lag while speeding up or slowing down.

  • Dude I'm not as tall as you but i want to be a smaller version of you can you give your routines( eg. how much weight do you lift or if you use some kind of suplements) $and if there is any kind of Hiit that could be done without using the legs plis tell me$ because i have my left leg contractured and I can even walk some times >.<.   • Thanks so much for this. This is much better for indoors than the type of HIIT workout I normally do outdoors on the track: One minute sprint and 4 minute walk inbetween. Then in the interest of time, I narrowed it down to 1 minute sprints and 1 or 2 minutes in between. What's you opinion of this elongated type of HIIT?

  • Is it better to do fewer intervals at a higher intensity or more at a more manageable intensity? I currently do 8 intervals at a time by running on the treadmill, so when I want to increase the intensity, I increase the speed but still do 8. Should I increase the number of intervals instead or a little bit of both?

  • @Mr46674 yes. doing any cardio on an empty stomach is best.

    I don't fully believe it, but I've heard if you do cardio also in the morning; you get better results by 6x or something. Enjoy. I do cardio 3x a week.

  • just wondering, aren't elevated heartbeat excersices for 20-30min (steady rate) better than full out sprinting and resting? I'm basing my observation off that bodybuilder scooby, + generic boxer trainers.

    I'll have to see for myself I guess and give HIIT a try for this week's cardio :)

  • I wanna lose weight with this but i was wondering if this is a good way to train your fitness for a sport like soccer, that involves a lot of sprinting? I know that sounds like a dumb question but i thought i'd ask because i want to run around the field for 90 minutes without getting too tired after half an hour.

  • Shouldn't you recover for 1 min instead of 30 secs? I've read that intervals should be done at a 2:1 rest to work ratio.

    You are supposed have twice the amount of time to recover because the high intensity portion is so hard. Trust me you need it! You are supposed to go all out during the work interval. 90%+ max heart rate.

  • @tecnolover2642 Depends on your conditioning and goal, 1:1 works fine just have to push.

  • HIIT is very effective! This works good if your going for a run as well! I usually go about 2-3 miles but involve intervals and man by my 8th interval my body is exhausted!

  • @ForzaAquila Nah I was always really skinny when I started. Actually if you want to have a laugh at how skinny I was look up "14 Tricks You Can Do With Your Body" and watch the first few seconds. That's what I started as at 130lbs.

  • Well, this is almost like playing soccer. I was playing soccer the other day in my neighborhood and some dudes were telling me that last summer (yeah, this is not California!) someone had lost 40 pounds by playing soccer. He was always running during the games; kind of the same idea, sprints and snow walks, I reckon.

    A lot more fun, too, however more risky for getting injured (especially knee, that's why I try not to play too much soccer, there are too many "ambitious" players out there).
