The velineon is a TERRIBLE System, DO NOT BUY. I went through 2 of their Esc's both with a simple problem sticky buttons! Trust me go with the Castle systems you will be much happier!

the vxl esc sucks. i went through 2 of them. traxxas now wants 50 bucks for another peice of crap. i am not doing that, instead i went and bought the sidewinder sct combo. blows the velineon away. the 3500 cant even hold a candle to the castle 1410.

btw, the xl-5 is actually pretty good, but the vxl sucks terribly.

another thing, its red when its on nimh mode (non lvc) not when its got a 7 cell! so what happens when you throw i a 6 cell?

@indy34096 Sounds like you just got a defective part. Ive owned multiple VXL systems (1/10 and 1/16) And I havent had a problem since I dropped them into my rc's. And that was 3 years ago. Shown absolutely ZERO problems

Nice job on the video. My rustler has the same ESC and motor. Was awesome til it messed up when putting in beginner mode for my son. Now you hit the trigger and....pluah.. nothing. Fronts will turn left and right with full power, but it won't even push it's own weight with a full battery. Anyone had this problem? I've tried to switch modes with the instructions, it turns off when I'm doing so. WTF! Would love to drop kick it but I don't bash my rc's. I drive them hard but don't wanna drop the c

Thats the stampede 3605 XL5 2wd right? U just got the 3S system on it with the 7cell traxxas stage3 battery? How fast does it go and last on the 7cell nimh 3000mah? On stock 19/90 gearing? And also,how does the BL motor mount up? Is it the same way as the titan? Just the two bolts in the trannie caseing? Thanks,im gonna be getting this really soon and it looks just amazing!

@demonsparkx it all mounts the same, the 7 cell lasts about 10-15 minutes and it goes from 35-38mph

@gtbmxracer405 Awsome,thanks for the info,im getting my velineon kit in a few days. Hows your BL system holding up? I hurd some people had some problems actually but i dont belive everything bad i read lol seems ALOT better longer lasting and efficent compared to the regular ie:XL5 brushed system.

@demonsparkx its a great system, however, if u can, get a temp gauge used for nitros and dont let the motor pass160 degrees and dont let the esc pass 125 on the blue part of it, and oil the motor bearings after using in wet conditions and it will be great, i have two vxl systems and they both havve porbably over 30 hours on them, my first system i burnt up because i didnt have a temp gauge, but now that i do, it is lasting a really really long time, and if the esc button sticks, dont use oil

nice vid! if u take off the motor cap, (put electrical tape over the little indent)

it will take 10 degerees off the motor temp.

Why i got my vxl system is because my dumb castle creations sidewinder setup broke,the speed controller heat sink broke off from the main spot,where it was mounted and got to hot! then next thing i know it shut off on it's own without me doing anything and i picked up my stampede and it fell off! not only did the controller break but from getting so hot it shorted out my nickel metal hydride battery and melted!!

hey my friend got the vxl conversion for his truck and i was driving it and i hit my camera at 70 mph!!!!!!!!!.and my camera was in pieases. so change your tires if your using two battery packs. why becase they can be ceap. and now every time i see him and we drive i know who has my truck because he has a big cut in his lexan body LOL :D

@dkia09 ok well did your box say brushless ready? if so, then your transmission doesnt need to be changed, if your pede is an old one then u will have to change your transmission, other than that all u will need is the vxl velineon 3s kit, your local hobby shop should sell them, u can trade in your xl5 system and get a discount on the vxl
