  • This was after the 3 half gallon Yeager bombs

  • 0.- Fancy stuff...

  • Must have been ear splitting for the horse! He looked relaxed though....

  • only in New Orleans

  • My horse would have died

  • There really is no other place in the world like New Orleans, and I mean that in the best and worst possible way.

  • I'm a nola native and all of the horses do this especially in parades. It's funny to me that people think they're dancing, the thing is clearly ansi because of all the people and loud instruments.

  • @poisongirl007 Im a nola native too. :) they teach them to "dance" to the music. These horses are trained and monitored for reaction to wild human behavior. only the most calm and tolerable horses are allowed for mounted patrol bc they encounter the craziest humans and must be calm at all times. I witnessed on bourbon st an angry drunk human beating the horse bc he was angry at the cop. The horse was not happy but took it in stride. horses behave better than most people.

  • @christianne1975 I swear to god, if i ever saw a drunk or sober asshole beating a horse on bourbon street i would smash that idiots head into the pavement, jail or not.! animal abuse is NOT okay!

  • @lolacastellano13 I completely agree! There is never an excuse for abuse of anyone. The jerk, however, was no match for the horse. The horse was clearly not happy, and I ran away from Bourbon St bc I was scared of what would happen next. It was 3am, and I am quite sure the guy was arrested for assault. A cop was actually sitting on the horse when the nut did that. They do not take kindly to that sort of behavior.

  • if you can't slow the murder rate then spend time training a horse to dance right?

  • @JesuszillaCorp if youre an asshole you cant pause for a minute and say something positive i guess right?

  • @nolamkp09 oh sorry...the horse dance was cute...happy?

  • Go on with your bad self, your fancy footwork, your boppin' head, your crowd-pleasing boogie. All right Mr. Horse, you're the one I want to ride - or should that be the horse with which I want to dance.

  • this shit right here is 100% New Orleans and gives new new meaning to the term "buck jumping"

  • And that, ladies and gents, is how NOLA "occupies" a street. Yeah, you right.

  • The NOPD police horses go through Mardi Gras, they can pretty much get through anything. That's what they call a "bomb-proof" horse.

    God, I miss that place.

  • @Gumboz1953 yea these horses are wonderful troopers! they put up with so much crap from drunk people in the quarter, but their cops n we love 'em.

  • Did u also see the dancing monkeys. Lol

  • I LOVE MY CITY!! NEW ORLEANS BABY, AIN'T NOTHING LIKE IT IN THE WORLD!!

  • I miss NOLA, fuck you Hurricane Katrina T_T

  • ONLY IN NEW ORLEANS...GOTTA LOVE IT LOL!

  • so next time you go out to protest just bring some jazz music and all the police horses will be incapacitated

  • i have an uncle on the mounted unit for NOPD, they actually train these horses to march in parades, and dance.

  • Tell me where else this would happen. No, really I'll wait.

  • @jec3791 So true!

  • Man i miss home. The band was doin the dam thang. Its hard for anyone or anything to keep still when the second line band is gettin down ya digg.

  • Reppin the N-O!!!

  • It wasn't rude to expose the horse to the band music - these are working horses, very well trained, used for crowd control at Mardi Gras, where there is LOTS of loud music and tight crowds. The horses MUST be comfortable in that situation, and are trained to get used to it, or they would be totally ineffective, not to mention dangerous, at Mardi Gras. The video is a great demonstration of how well NOLA police and their horses handle being in a crowd. Yeah, you right, officer!

  • The horse's ears were back almost the entire time. I don't think he enjoyed the horns too much. It was good though. My horse would of had a heart attack. Those horses are well trained.

  • @JLGequestrian Ears back can also be a sign of concentration or attention to the rider. The horse probably was not a fan of the horns, but I don't think that was the only reason its ears were back.

  • Love it.. Regaining the people trust and love with various simple connections after all that went down out there before, during and after the big floods.

  • He is good! The cop is one fatastic rider too! what a splendid team!!!

  • Love it! Those horses are so well trained:) And the officer defiantly knows how to control his mount.

  • Those are fairly basic dressage moves that can be used by mounted officers as crowd control. This guy knows how to sit a horse, and really seems to have a good connection with his mount; I'm impressed.

  • Horsin around, no less!

  • I love this city.

  • Well trained, and while I can appreciate the additional crowd experience training, I think it was kinda rude to keep his ears in front of those horns. Nice of the cop to lighten up enough to show his horse's stuff.

  • <3

  • .....and the horse was fired the next day for quote "having too much fun on the job." lmao

  • @MrIceBrick Other horses gave no comment. lol

  • HE WAS FIRED THE DAY AFTER

  • pretty cool

  • lmao
