Uh, no, I don't have a problem with that. Well, I have a problem when pc fanboys jump in my face and chant fallacious reasonings for why I shouldn't use a mac, but other than that, no.
somebody's remark "The new I am not alone ad edits down the series of characters presented in the first Im a PC ad to the point where they appear to just be chanting PC PC PC. Then, at the end, it jawdroppingly juxtaposes Deepak Chopra saying were all a PC, inseparably one with a fighter holding down his opponent yelling angrily, you got a problem with that?, leaving a weirdly intense Borg message of conformity."
Ask people about the endless spyware and virus problems on PC's... that's a HUGE reason why people switch to macs. On ,y ,ac I spend my time doing things, not trouble shooting, or being burdened by an illogical UI and on operating system that is constantly asking me questions.
C'mon PC, could these commercials get any worse? How creative PC, stealing the MAC commercial idea to develop your own terrible rebuttal campaign! Way to go PC, you're still a thief! (remember windows?)Yeah, that was the Mac OS first! THIEF! C'mon PC!
sharing via windows to windows is not really any different then sharing between windows and a mac.
Besides we all use the internet now to share things so um, there are really no walls anywhere.
Granted the add is a step in the right direction but it still bores me! Windows bores me, Linux is useless if you cant just download and install a plugin for your browser like flash and Im not going to buy a mac since it isnt much better then the rest of systems out there.
Some would say the same thing about the Mac. You're not buying technology, you're buying into the culture Steve Jobs has convinced you is cool. It's like expensive jeans - probably no better than the stuff everyone else is wearing, but it lets you feel elite.
Those people would be wrong. I bought my first mac because in 1985 PCs couldn't do anything better then Atari and Commodore computers. (Which I owned.) In '99 it looked like Apple was dying and I had no choice but to get a PC. I helped my friend get his PC "working" (Not his first PC either.) and the experience convinced me that I'd rather have the last Mac ever made then go through that. I know more then most people about PCs. That's why I don't buy them.
Oh is that so, i don't know much about Macs? I know plenty enough about Macs... I know that its version of MSN is shit. Its version of office is incomplete and doesn't use the new ribbon interface. I can't run Visual Studio on it and it can't run my phone software. Not only can it not run these pieces of software, but it has no technical advantages. If I wanted to do video editing I would use Premiere Pro, picasa for a photo album and Cubase for music editing, garage band is unprofessional.
The Microsoft Network? You're kidding - why would I want any of that stuff? NeoOffice is free and reads everything, Premiere has been buggy as hell on both macs and PCs since version 5. (I loved 4.7) Garage Band is FUN and easy. It serves my video needs. (If I was a music pro I'd buy pro apps.) The purpose of programs is to DO THINGS. Macs DO THINGS better. Getting fixated on specific names (Picasa vrs iLife) means that you have forgotten why you bought a computer in the first place.
The point is I am a professional. I use my computer for professional things, but I can also use it for anything I want, it can be fun, college work or professional work. And that's the point. I am not restricted. And I wasn't fixated on names, you were, the point is anything Macs can do, Windows can do. But that doesn't work both ways. MS Office 07 is incredible, and completely changes the UI for the better, if I just cared about opening documents I would use OpenOffice.
It DOES work both ways. If I should become the one Mac user in 100 that can't live without MS Office 07, I could just instal windows on my Mac. What would happen if you somehow couldn't live without Final Cut? And yes I too am a professional. Real pros don't waste money on "Pro" items that don't meet their real needs. Professional PENs exist, but bankers don't use them - draftsmen do.
So now you think I should install Windows on a Mac for times when I need to run Windows apps? And I don't have a video camera, so why would I need video editing software. Three are two professional pieces of software apple make, finalcut, logic and aperture. I only need music sequencing software, and cubase is the best for that. Also, i have loads of freeware software that is windows only. There is just absolutely no advantage of a Mac over Windows, it's just the simple.
You need Final Cut for the same reason that I need Windows and MS Office. None! You are back to listing titles again, but there is plenty of Freeware for Macs, and more doesn't mean better. Other then infect my friends with viruses, what _activity_ (not program) do you think Macs can't do as well as PCs?
PC PC it sounds like piece of shit.

Incredible thing... Denial!
I think this is a good campaign, but it is deceiving. Like most Advertising Campaigns they just want to sell you a product.
For everyone that uses MS Windows, cleaning Virus, Spyware, and troubleshooting is a everyday Reality.
Unless you have a friend or relative, etc.. that cleans and setups for you.
Peace

And this shows how smart MS is.
Macs are PCs. Personal Computer. A computer that can fit on your desk. A PC can run Mac OS,Windows,Linux,Solaris and 20000 other OS.
Fail MS. Fail.
drivojulianrobotnik 3 years ago 4
hardly, they are just replying to apple who labelled them as PC's when they were clearly talking about windows.
joeeb1991 3 years ago
Seriously, mac might be good yes, but it doesn't fit everyone.
How many games or programs are made for mac? Like 0,1%? Maybe even less than that..
So basically this means gamers, developers and server owners have a problem using a mac.
And if you're only using internet or doing school work then fine use a mac. But for everything else, a PC would be better.

It's hard to make ads to "combat" Mac when there is really no contest. Nice try though Steve.

Buy a PC because everyone is. Don't make an informed choice, go with the herd.
ProfSai 3 years ago
it's not about going with the herd, it's that makes sharing things easier (most of the times)...
Or that's what i think at least...

Sorry, I'm wrong. A Mac could infect PCs just fine, but you'd have to do it on purpose. It's not automatic like on a PC.
