Of many good structures made by Muslims in Spain only few like Alhambra survived while the rest were being destroyed by christians to erase the Muslim history in west.
It is a gem of mideval Moorish architecture, which draws its essential characteristics from the Moroccon style. The particular arches are found in many historical ciities of Morocco. But the Moores added and lent further detail which is indeed amazingly perfect as far as geometrical and symmetrical design is concerned. The well preserved ruins of historic Alhambra speak of a majestically magnificent and sprawling Muslim Emirate the like of which was unknown anywhere in rest of Eourpe.
@ylahumanidad The construction was begun by The Nasrites who were probably the emirs who built the Alhambra, starting in 1238. I went there back 6 years ago. The mathematical genius of the building is staggering! It stems back from the Islamic Scholars who developed Algebraeic theorems - and used other theorems such as Trigonometry to devise an almost singularly amazing consttruction. If you can imagine a triangle split in two - each triangle would fit perfectly into every side of the palace
Quite the contrary, Spaniards are in fact the southern Europeans most genetically distant from them, but you sure are a retarded & resentful nonwhite "Latin" American multi-account troll clumsily pretending to be a "redneck", LOL!
Petty much everybody in Spain have Moorish ancestry from North Africa meaning Spaniards are not truly indigenous to Europe and their culture is not European ,they are infidels!
@ConfederateKnight omg You dont know nothing about history. Moorish arrived at Iberian peninsula at 8th century (but they were no more than 30.000) They were expulsed later in 1492 and very few more arrived. The blood of the People in spain has always been more or less the same since Celtiberian. Romans, Greeks, Fenics, Cartaginesians, Visigodos, godos, Francs, moorish and much other warriors and kings arrived at the peninsula but our race its always been the same: mediteranean. like italy & so
@polemikful And you think that even if just 30,000 arrived that some wouldn't have stayed and had families with the local population? Many historians have debated the number of Moors that actually migrated: there is no certainty and our knowledge history is being constantly updated., that's what makes it so fascinating. And if it was just 30,000 the population wouldn't have remained for 700 years at that level as populations fluctuate.
i'm surprised the reasons for why the Alhambra remains in a prestine state is such a mystery. It's well known why castle making went out of business after the middle ages - the cannon arrived.
The reason the Alhambra still stands prestine is obvious; the arabs surrendered it to the christians when they threatened to level it with cannon fire.
Abdulrahman the first was the first ruler of Alandalus or so called andalusia, they build a lot of beautiful and modern cites while Europe was living in the dark, at that time ppl from all parts of Europe used to come to alqurdobah, eshbeliah and gornadah to study and learn more about medicine, math ,astronomy and so many other science, also they used to learn Arabic loool, and the history of those buildings which are full of Arabic quotes from Quraan prove that u fucking sick ignorant
iberia or andalusia was conquered by berbers. arabs did nothing. not arabs because there were "arabic words on this or that walls...". different ppl and religon lived in peace under berber ruling before the middle-esterns, fleeing the war in their lands, came and ruined it. after then no more peace between ppl, andalsia became weak and bye bye.
so avoid to say arab while it is not.

The Muslims had no option but to be tolerant to the Christians as the Spaniards had already lost hundreds of thousands of lives in reclaiming their lands and the muslim rulers knew that they were invaders. Granada had already been a vassal state for 250 years.
But obviously this palace is beautiful. And in Granada the Muslims continued the tradition of good wine.
