  • This was big in Jamaica in the 1950s as were all his hits, his cover of Dumplins is superb. Check out Googie Rene - Easy and Doc Bagby - Puddin'. All this stuff is referred to as Jamaican R & B just as northern soul is American Black music so is the Jamaican R & B. It was started by a man called Duke Vin who set up the first sound systems in the UK in the 1950s. Great to see the 78s which Duke would have played at his club.
