It's true that if you look at the bible logically, it may not make much sense to you, but the bible is not made for logical debate, it is a collection of stories/history used to form a moral base for mankind. The whole point of Jesus teachings were from his own 2 commandments, love God and love your neighbor.

Belief in God does not mean there is only one "answer" to life.

You also argue that becuase there is a large number of religions, the differing opinions must cancel each other out. Why can't multiple religions have some things correct and some wrong? There is a reason that Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe in the same God. They may have different ethical codes, but there are definite similarities.

It's not censored.... I am jewish, and I'm guessing he is too, and in our religion, we do not write G-d out, or His name in Hebrew either. The only time it's written out is in our prayer books and other books of learning. And even then, you cannot throw it out. In is Shames( SHAY-Mess) Basically, Shem( Pronounced like shame) means name in hebrew. So it means the name, and you can't throw it out.

There are sum mistakes, made by man, by copy of the manuscripts and this few mistakes were translated in EVERY century, till today.
It shows, if the Bible was "manipulated" , like muslim say, u can be sure , all those translating or copy mistakes were years ago eliminated.

I'm not sure what you mean by opening your eyes. There isnt one bit of science that disproves God, and in many ways supports the idea of a greater being or consciousness. It's true that if you look at the bible logically, it may not make much sense to you, but the bible is not made for logical debate, it is a collection of stories/history used to form a moral base for mankind. The whole point of Jesus teachings were from his own 2 commandments, love God and love your neighbor.

religion is the values of one culture taken to be universal truths. there is no one right answer, and there is no absolute truth. To believe in a god is to say that there is some kind of right answer to life, and the very fact that so many different religions exist disproves that.

Religion can be influenced by culture and it can be a part of culture, but is not taking the values of culture to be universal truths. If that were true, there would be a different religion for each country as well as many religions within each country. The latter is possible and likely, but you wouldn't have a specific religion for Russia, France, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, China, or South Africa. What you can say is that religion has its own culture, not every culture has its own religion.

Religion also has more to do with faith than fact, that is where science comes in and science has not disproven God once, but supported the idea of a greater consciousness out there. To believe in anything isn't saying there is a definite right answer, it is saying you have faith or trust in a certain answer or truth. To know something is to say there is a right answer. Belief in God does not mean there is only one "answer" to life.

decay789, I doubt very much that any religion involving the worshiping of a deity could survive without faith. You can't just produce hard evidence for a religion because not only are you dealing with proving God, but proving life after death, that everyone has a soul, etc. I'm not saying there isn't evidence God exists, it's quite easy to find it in quantum physics.
What I'm trying to say is there is always a degree of unknown when dealing with religion, and faith deals with the unknown.

You also argue that becuase there is a large number of religions, the differing opinions must cancel each other out. Why can't multiple religions have some things correct and some wrong? There is a reason that Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe in the same God. They may have different ethical codes, but there are definite similarities.
