  • what a expeditious commentary at 0:25. ball status three different status described by the commentator just in one secant like "In the year" "Oh it,s dropping" " oh rall go it".

commentator really pictured the bowl journey.

  • 3rd catch was the best..... what fast reactions

  • 0:25 .........................Tony :)

  • notice how this is bias against australia

    and only shows brtish catches

  • @dinukaperera2809 look at who uploaded this video and realise your error

  • @dinukaperera2809 The video is posted by the ecb you tard

  • Pause at 0.05, LOL

  • Where was Brett Lee's amazing catch and bowled

  • the best catch i've seen was by South africa...can't remember his name at the moment but it was a diving one hander against the west indies...it was one of their senior guys back between 06, 07 or 08. I haven't watched cricket in a while...

  • I played marbles as a kid ...gee I hope i can play for England one day

  • 0:23 was the best!!!!!

  • cricket is is 2nd in the world because over 2 billion people play it at some stage in there life (childhood) and if you say im not right ask 1.7 billion Indian's XD

  • Too busy playing fucking video games .. get off your fucking ass lazy americans...

  • The Catches are all english.. shithole

  • That catch was the highlight of Jones' shirt and miserable career

  • Absolutely LOVE Jones' catch, absolutely quality and pretty much the only thing he caught in his England career lol.

  • the best was Strauss's catch in the slip off adam gilcrist.

  • jones' catch is amazing

  • good luck!!! to England for coming Ashes

  • The English invented a game they are bloody hopeless at .. what else is new?

  • @stuca13 your commenting this on a video about England beating Australia in the Ashes...lol XD

  • @stuca13 Hopeless? Have you seen the ICC rankings?

  • @stuca13 winning the ashes again yeah thier hopeless

  • i didnt noe a lot abt cricket before this ashes.didnt like cricket.was into futball.but after watching tis ashes series,i fell in love with cricket.i expected them to win with aussies in australia but got trashed.

  • Why are all of the catches taken by English players?

  • @ausguyinjpn This is an excerpt from a British TV salute to the England team which won the 2005 Ashes.

It has been mis-labelled for youTube

  • eng are always good in ashes

  • Go Geraint! He dropped a few, but that one rocked, lol!

  • Where was The Marcus Trescothick catch from Edgbaston?

  • @JacobMilner You could have picked 10 from this series and still have people come up with other ones. So many amazing catches you can only pick a few.

  • Twelfth Man ?

    they aren't Twelfth Man

  • thats because atthe beginning it says twelfth man presents: top 5 catches

  • i dont even like cricket but 0:25 just inspires me....i want that image in a massive HD poster in my room....

  • 1st most popular sport in the world = football (soccer)

    america cant play

2nd most popular sport in the world = cricket

america doesnt know what it is

  • bloody well said haha

  • exactly!!!. THats true. Im an Indian Asian living in America.

  • So True.

  • america is the greatest country in the world!! BUT HOW!!! isit becuz american soldiers r killing the most inocent people than any other country, or american r the most racist nation or wat!! (no disrespect to america)

    wel said!!

  • Did you forget there was British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan? Or that the UK is one of the most imperialistic country this planet has ever seen?

  • I actually think basketball is the second most popular.

How does America do at that? I forget... Are we any good? Do we have a league?

  • you are a typical american u think whats popular in US is popular everywhere

basketball is not no.2 its not even close

  • Your a typical Canadian. You wear jeans with a jean jacket and you have a mullet.

  • 1 fishing

    2 football

    3 cricket

    4 golf

  • @99problams what u want from america !!!!!

  • @99problams And if they're not sure, the dub their championship 'World Series', because their world doesn't really go beyond the USA and Canada. ;-)

  • @99problams great words,,,...

  • I think Geriants was best, if not only seconded by the slip catch, thats a really hard call

  • Gotta love how dumb Americans are.

Europe has a larger gnp as a whole than America, free trade barriers so any company can earn within that area, better health care as a whole on most indexes, open migration within the e.u higher individual earnings and free spending ability.

Saying America is more powerful than Britain as a country is true, but is as valid as saying Britain is more powerful than North Carolina.

  • jones' catch is underrated, just because he's a wicketkeeper and takes loads it gets forgotten :s

  • e 4 sure

  • geriant jones's one was brilliant

  • I've always found cricket very cool, but for me it's pretty confusing

  • @NAZ2376 It's simple enough in reality - the bowler is trying to knock over the vertical pieces of wood behind the batsman (there are seven other ways to be dismissed though), and the batsman is trying to score runs.

Test Cricket is a five-day game, but to win, one side has to get the other side out twice AND score more runs - otherwise, the result is called a draw.

Where it gets complicated is things like the LBW law - but then baseball has the infield fly rule, so let's call it honours even?

  • im sorry, but how did a video on cricket catches result in an argument between americans and brits?

  • because we are better than sports compared to them

  • im a brit, but tbh you cant really say that as we tend to play different sports then the americans. where we might be better than them at sports such as cricket and football (soccer to you americans lol) they are better than us at sports such as baseball and basketball, the differences in popular sports in both means you cant really make a comparison on each others sporting ability and 'who the best is at sports'

  • Well said.

  • I'm not so sure we're better than them at Football... Considering how they won the Confederations cup. Our league teams though are MUCH better.

  • true, however i do think that american could be a dominant force in football if more money was spent over there to coach kids and spread the message on the sport

  • Good question

  • geography? "political views"??? WTF?!?!? THIS IS A CRICKET VIDEO u bunch of....

  • wtf

  • i love you reece

  • Thats exactly what im not saying. you numbnut. all sports take a lot off skill.

  • lol...cannot believe i read some of these comments, typical retards, insulting w/e is foreign to them...

  • geraint jones pulled off a worldy there.

  • Cricket, LOL.

  • I know, but where's the fun in that? Americans commenting on a cricket match are fair game.

  • what an interesting and fun looking recreational activity..

    not

  • wow...a not joke. you're clever

  • I love how they're all dressed like they're wine tasting.

    Sorry, I'm an uncultured American.

  • @h2oloobmx And i love how baseball players dress in plus-fours from the 1890s - not to mention the weirdness of American Football players' uniforms ... it's all what you're used to.

  • best sport ever! C was definitely the BEST!

  • Yet you can't capitalize words are the start of a sentence or spell simple words right.

Good argument. Keep up the good work.

  • Pakistan are the Madafa. Bangladesh the BEST...

  • exactly its like golf ure got to get out there and practice very hard to earn the skill and continue cause jus like golf one bad swing and its all over the other person wins!!!

  • the best always pakistan

  • Go South Africa

  • It might help if you guys over there actually played the same sports as everybody else... like soccer. And to make out that baseball is a serious game. It's a girl's game over here. We call it Rounders. Grid Iron is just rugby, but less manly.. we don't stop every few seconds, and we don't wear wall-to-wall body armour, and when you take the field, you do so for the whole game.

    America, man up!

Pot stirred, my work here is done.lol

  • Hahaha, I was all fired up until I read the end of your post. Nothing like a little good old fashioned sports argument.

  • How is cricket manlier than baseball??bounce a rubber ball to hit sticks over? sounds like something i would do at the carnival.

  • you are aloud to hit the guy that is hitting, with the ball, ad i it is leagal.! it is the whole point of the game

  • Rubber ball? HAHAHAHAHA

It's as hard as a rock, and heavy. The world's top bowlers are sending it down at speeds of around 95 miles per hour. And it's only that slow because they have to make it bounce before it reaches the batsman. And they are allowed to aim at the batsman's head, as long as it bounces.

  • baseball they throw hard balls at 95 miles an hour and they dont bounce....

  • cuz their tiny American brains aren't intelligent enough to do that, although baseball is an excellent sport cricket is much much MUCH better! CRICKET FTW!!!

  • Tiny American brains that dominate the world. Don't worry, you still have David Beckham, fried fish, and cricket. All is well.

  • FYI i didnt say i was british but yes the US might dominate but that doesnt mean much, there are no real Americans (aside the native American tribes) all the rest are immigrants... which came to the US when it was discovered.

  • Wake up and smell the ....tea and biscuits... there's no such thing as "The greatest country"..Now THAT really IS illusory and transient. We are the Brits, we've been there, done that, and realised that it's not all it's cracked up to be. Fools gold. Get on and live with the rest of the world.

  • You were "there" and "did that" hundreds of years ago. And its comical that you make it sound like all of a sudden you realized it was wrong to be one of the most imperialistic countries the world has ever seen. You failed. You had a good run, but you failed. We are the greatest country not because we dominate other countries, but because we are the land of opportunities. Also, we play better sports.

  • 350,000,000

  • Even better.

  • Greatest country?

Over 60% of your population is fat.

    You started the recession.

    You have no history.

    Sounds like a fantastic country.

  • Yup. Amazing place.

See you when you come for vacation!

  • Like I said, simple, like rounders.

  • Comment removed

  • Go on then Einstein... the LBW law. Explain in your own words please.

This should be good for a laugh.

  • I think an Americans head would explode trying to understand LBW.

  • yes but the fact that the ball bounces makes it harder. Countless batsmen/wicketkeepers have suffered injuries from being hit in the chest/head by balls that would normally keep low but hit cracks and smash into their skulls.

Got watch some Steve Harmison, Jeff Thompson or Michael Holding then see if you still reckon the batsmen arent tough

  • Girls Girls Girls put the handbags away. Every sport takes skill, i doubt many cricket players could be good at American Football or vice versa, because cricket players learn the skill of reflex catching or how to swing a ball not how to dodge tackles or fight through half a dozen men. All sport takes skill (except maybe for tidlywinks :P) just different skill.

  • THANK YOU! Could not agree more.

  • good catches, geraint jones has got to be one of the worst names invented

  • It would be nice to see a slow mo of them!

  • and i doubt any soccer or criket player can catch in double coverage or take multiple tackles without training for years. As good as T.O or any running back

  • your all stupid. in football you have to catch a ball while keeping your eye on it while its in the air and keep your eye on your field position and people around you. Oh and running through a small opening and hitting men hundreds of pounds doesnt take skill. i doubt your gay 14 year old son can do that. Can your son run a 4.5? I doubt it. Accuratly (spelling error) throwing a football fifty yards while trying not to get tackled skill. Pushing men who weigh hundreds of pounds takes skill.

  • I go for Aussies but c was a good catch England cheated in that series dam poms!

  • oh how we love, our all round man, his bear drinking, his chain smoking, his gorgeous wife, his slip catching, his seam bowling, his six hitting.. ohohohho.. freddie flintoff, freddie freddie flintoff, freddie flintoff, freddie freddie flintoff

  • @pigfully how?

  • C was the best

  • PROBLEMS WITH YOUR COMMENT

    1) I mention tea and your up in arms, yet he calls an entire league of players "prisses" and its kosher?

    2) Someone saying that one of the most popular sports in the world does not involve skill deserves to be dogged.

    3) Gatorade is way more bad-ass than tea (kidding)

  • ok first off on the argument about american football. its tru it dosnt take half the skill of soccer. IT DOES however take skill just not as much. were the real skill in football is, is in the coaches and the people who come up with and deploy the plays. soccer takes more skill because you need to kick the ball with the same feet you are running on rather than holding a ball. using your feet to move a ball at high speeds takes a lot more skill then just holding it while you run

  • Well considering the fact that you say American Football requires "not much skill" voids your opinion. Your right you will comment, but your comments hold little water when you make broad, sweeping comments that are untrue.

Whether you like American football or not, to say that it requires little skill is just plain dumb. Any sport that has professional athletes requires great amounts of skill. That is why they get paid millions, and everyone else plays in their backyard.

  • Well lets see, catch a ball and run. Yes there is skill that is required, however my 14 year old can run for a 50yrd catch while he has double coverage. As for running a ball. some skill is involved there although anyone can run and dodge to an extent but still little skill required.

Soccer (true football) you need more skill to run and handle a ball with your feet while trying to dodge your opponents. To shoot a ball around players and have it curve into a net takes skill.

  • Your 14 year old son? That is your argument?

Let your son try to run and dodge 250 pound linebackers. Go watch film of Barry Sanders running the ball and tell me it takes little skill. Watch Tom Brady throw a ball 60 yards right into the hands of Randy Moss while five 350 pound men try to rip his head off.

Soccer takes a tremendous amount of skill as well. The difference between me and you is that I respect all sports whether they are popular in my country or not.

  • I'm sorry I don't see how I voided my comment at all?

I commented directly to ones persons comment about skill levels. I then commented of the ability of anyone to be able to comment without being a pro.

So please maybe you can be clearer on how I voided something?

  • thanx

  • what a lame clip. you can't even see where the action is...just some guy rolling on the ground.

  • Need some slow mo for some of the catches, that keeper catch was sweet

  • Sports are sports. No one on youtube has any grounds on saying which is harder, tougher, or better because you are all sitting at home in front of your computers. Unless I am mistaken and one of you has been a pro in two totally different sports and can say first hand... it means nothing.

  • you need to chill out on the youtube commenting... you're just making yourself look bad :p lol

  • lmfao look at all the American loud mouths here... Telling Europeans to play real sports...

    loolz at you Americans

you don't know what real sports are..!

  • cricket is a women's sport

  • lol dumbass

  • amigo esta muy bueno el video me re paso pasas

  • I'll never forget that strauss catch

  • woo england won the 2009 ashes :O :D by 197 runs :O epic

  • NFL is quarter guys beating the bejesus out of each other, three quarters advertisements and tactical gatherings that go on for agggeeesss about how to beat the bejesus out of each other. Not my sport... i'd rather just watch UFC if i wanted violence

Aussie Rules... now there's a real sport :)

  • Your so pathetic.. xDD

  • Seriously, anything other than college football with regards to the American code is just crap! It's like a slowed-down version of cricket, at least you get a ball every minute whereas in NFL it takes about 5 minutes for every play.

AFL: fastest ball game in the world, highly skilled and nonstop action. Just watch it rise.

  • how do u even play cricket

  • either C or E

  • I like NFL, NCCA-FB,Lacrosse,Cricket,Rugby,water polo, volleyball. Why does everyone get so up tight about all these sports?Love them all!

  • Funny how each video becomes a comment-war.

  • finaly real sport not like fottball.let the us see proper sport.

    cricket rules.

  • annnnnnd... ur comment won the "lol of the week" award...

Congrats!! And enjoy your "real" sport!!

    Ahahaahahahah

  • oh I am so glad a Cricket video is being featured on Youtube.

Let Americans watch this and learn some real sport.

  • Cricket Rocks!!!!

Let all these foolish people watch how intense the Cricket sport is, we don't use gloves to grab catches unlike baseball.

  • Nothing like football? Haha you are a tool. England and Australia have AFL, Rugby League and Rugby Union... All of which involve more balls than NFL (which I do love, dont get me wrong).

  • like we dont play rugby in the u.s?

and dont be hatin on the nfl if u love it...

  • andrew's catch is simply amazing

  • cool vid

  • no entendi nada (?, de que carajo se trata el video?????

  • all of them were good

  • no u just don't know what cricket is, It's better than football.

  • cce ee crc

  • jones is definitly 2

  • nice vdo....but u should provide replays of catches also....!!

  • Why only have English catches, some of the Aussie ones were good aswell. Was such a good series this one.

And on the note of what appears to be Cricket vs Baseball, at least cricket doesnt need stupid gimmick sounds and flashing tvs to keep the crowds entertained. And it also has decent anti doping laws not oh what your on steroids ok 4 week ban. Baseball one of the few sports not to join the the world anti doping ruleset.

  • Id get alot more out of this if I knew the rules to cricket haha....

Great catches though, anyone can appreciate that

  • jones catch was brilliant

  • awesome....

  • C was very good keeping

  • crickets for boring loosers with nothing better to do then watch a game for 3 days straight.

  • 5 asshole

  • WOW.... you see this every day in baseball no difference and besides baseball rocks this sport

  • Australian actually! And we fondly call our British cricketing foes. Pommies. The worlds two greatest sporting rivals of all time

  • It's funny how cricket hasn't taken on to any other part of the world...I wonder why...

  • stupid americans..

  • fake

  • boring sports

  • There is a difference between rugby and American Football. Its funny how stupid you are.

  • boring sports

  • uhm i dont really like cricket but i rather watch/play this than baseball o.O

  • Those r foul balls foul tips they arent even swinging hard

  • fake

  • Jones' catch was the fantastic one....Love that reflexes by the wicket keeper............Indian Cricket lover.
