He is very right that parents should be as attentive and caring as possible, but I must point out that when someone turns out badly, it isn't always the parents' fault.
Simply put, there are just a million and one variables in a person's life over which the parents only have so much control. The parents can try to steer their kids in the right direction, but when push comes to shove, 99% of life's lessons we as individuals really have to figure out for ourselves.
