  • Toujours autant de plaisir à écouter... Magnifique Voix, Magnifique musique... <3

  • 8 people are deaf

  • Thank god they're touring again in 2012!!

  • @Nephilimfields Best news eVar!

  • @Nephilimfields I second that, good to hear they're touring again

  • Very nice to hear Gerrard/Perry talk about their art. The song of course is superb, even more so in this interpretation.

Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser ('Aikea Guinea' for me is one of the most beautiful tracks ever made) springs into mind when LG tries to explain why she sings the way that she does: "no time to mess around with words", "the prison of language". The emotion flows straight to the heart, words and sentences are completely superfluous.

  • I have watched this video about 25 times since yesterday, when I accidentally bumped into it. Used to love "Within..." many years ago, but this version just kills me. I can't think I have ever heard a better vocal performance, live or recorded, it's eerily ecstatic and it covers all the emotions in away I didn't know was possible.

  • The only bad thing about this,is this is it! You can't do any better than this, you simply can not sing a song better than Lisa sings this song!

  • Effen A!

  • Just brilliant.

  • i watch this over and over. If anyone that sees this does not know about Dead Can Dance, they are AMAZING and the documentaries on their music (Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerard) explain how she does not sing in words, in no language but that of her own spirit... so awesome! unworldly, yes

  • ....like a hunting in the woods....u dont know what s hunting u but u r scared...rage and chilling feelings fill me when i hear that .....i feel proud i saw them in 1995 in athens

  • saw show live was amazed to see goths and suits in the same place liveng for the same music ..... LISA freeken rules

  • Fell in love with DCD at Uni. Have remained a devotee ever since.

Cantara is a brilliant track on the studio album - but even better live, I think.

    Genius.

  • WTF... this is the best live performance I've ever heard or seen! SHIT

  • Wenn Götter Musik machen....unbeschreiblich

  • so....wonderbeautifantastic...i think i'll throw myself off a waterfall.

  • THIS.BE.EVIL.

  • total abgefahren!!

  • I fucking love her voice I love this song

  • this one kinda ramps me up... not good while driving... lol

  • MANDO MUITO BEM

  • fing great

  • meglio del miglior orgasmo!!!

  • Oh how I love DCD!

  • this song is beyond any Western offering.

  • WOW

  • what's beyond them?

  • Miazga. Moge tego sluchac codziennie i zawsze sie zaslucham.

  • wow... ja z kumpelami będziemy do tego tańczyć... a to taka ponura melodia, a takie trudne kroki...

wow ... I will be girls-club to the dance ... This is a grim melody, and such difficult steps we put together a choreographer ...

  • sie naucz lepiej angielskiego...

  • zjeżdzaj!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • get lost little child :)

  • I LOVE THIS!!!

  • many times I wrote that DCD is pure magic ... but live it looks like even better ...

  • she's an angel, i cant find anything else to say.

  • true true true

  • She's so beautiful in every way. This song absolutely takes my breath away every time I hear it. I had the privilage of seeing them perform live some years ago; nothing like it. Everyone in the audience was frozen and wide-eyed the entire time.

  • astounding in every way

  • what an enigmatic smile at 1:30, she tilts her head, I wonder what she's thinking. Then all hell breaks loose, like summoning kali! Then at the interview so... poised...

    God bless you, guys!

  • crazy build up

  • i thought it was awesome

  • Meravigliosi

  • Just gorgeous...

  • The greatest!

  • I can't say much of anything. Speechless. This is a more agressive Cantara than I have heard before. It's unworldly

  • mystagogue..

  • I love it... ^^

  • at 1:56 ouff

  • More that music

  • amazing, this music is so deeply felt...

  • holy crap she's amazing. what a woman. the intensity!

  • She's an Angel.....

  • They should do the lament of the higborn.

  • WoW FTW..!!!

  • Beautiful . . .

  • the beautiful1's i couldn't agree with you more! I lover this song Cantara, it will make you cry if you let it run inside your soul. awesome, cheers to dead can dance!

  • No words to describe the feelings,I get when I listen to this song...It simply touches my soul.

  • awesome...

  • Timeless music. Glad to find their performances here.

  • i love dcd... their music... their talent overwhelms me with enlightenment, courage, passion, serenity, and a whirlwind of so many other feelings. its amazing the impact their music haves on me.. sometimes i dont understand it... but i love the "high" (from lack of a better description) it floods me with. everyone should experience dcd!

  • A intuição é o conhecimento interior, o guia da nossa missão!

    Citações: Alex Mero

    Romance: A Lenda

  • I still can just barely avoid to cry when I see this...

It's so amazing, I don't know any kind of music that touches me like this...

  • It's been almost 10 years since DCD broke up and I still mourn. Their work has defined my writing in ways I cannot express. If I had Three wishes . . .

  • the best

  • Isn´t only the talent, the surface of the memory comes straightly to the soul when the impact of the do-re promoves its darkness...

  • damn!!! i can't come up with any words to express how i feel when i listen to their music...it goes straight to my soul...wait a sec..soulfull..what amazing talent they have!!!

  • Thank you for expressing! My thoughts exactly. My of what they do is indescribably transcending!

  • Magic................

    -) 101

  • Amazing !!!

  • how can u live without dead can dance?i mean,it means so much for me...even the deads can dance..

  • ...it makes you dream:

"i wish i was there when this event happend, to sense this ecstasy live!!!"

    ultimate ecstasy of music!

absolute respect for Lisa Gerrard's voice!

  • I went to see them live in London 2005. They were very impressive. I then bought one of the official live recordings subsequently produced from that same European tour, although I didn't manage to obtain the London gig that I attended. Nethertheless, I was happy. However, if there is one thing that 'The Toward The Within' sound mixers did particularly well on the 1994 album over the more recent 2005 live albums, is that the percussion is captured impeccably well.

  • Yeah, I believe I saw them the same year, but in Mexico city, they started their tour in Mexico city, then they moved to Europe... and now the sad thing is that maybe I wont see them again...

  • Chills...especially around 3:30 and after...

  • COME BACK DCD! WE NEED YOU!

  • where'd they go? <3!

  • I don't know babe. IDK

  • some of the most creative minds of all time it is most amazing. Dead can dance for the win!

  • i do like this song

while hearing, I danced, as if would be in a transe, too great

  • not creepy... godlike more...

  • There's something so creepy about them. I love it.

  • alguien tiene las letras de este tema ??

  • AMAIZING!!!

This is one of the greatest songs ever!!!!

  • One of the finest live performances I have ever seen--DCD or otherwise. My only regret is that the videographer did not focus more on Lisa during 4:13-end of performance. It's such a beautiful frenzy; would love to see her face. Love to all.

  • Dead Can Dance is unlike everything else in music, and sooooooo good on so many levels.

  • So few modern day artists carry such extraordinary talents and the wealth of knowledge as DCD, even beyond the realm of music. Just listen to them speak about literature!

    He dicho

  • 1984

  • i love dead can dance.. the music can almost put you in a trance like state

  • Great and beautifull

  • THE ONLY ONE AND FOREVER SONG !

  • I find the man with that ehrm, round thing on a stick that makes a kind of rattling noise, the man with the tail in his hair very amusing, how he gets into the music, when all he really does is move the round thing in his hand. Nice to watch. And the music is extraordinary.

  • It's a goddamned crime how these little anime brats use DCD, Black Tape for a Blue Girl etc. for their stupid anime videos.

    DCD deserves respect.

  • that IS how a 10 year old respects them, but I know what you mean.

  • yhe best of the best a naarcotic song

  • When I sit at my desk on a daily basis writing the content to my nightly radio show on a rock station...I listen to Dead Can Dance constantly...and toss in a little Cradle Of Filth as well. The fantasy my ears yearn for is Dead Can Dance and Cradle Of Filth combining for an experiment in fusing the haunting and apocalyptic sounds of DCD with the dark metal of COF! That would be AMAZING!!

  • I agree, totally.

  • UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!!!

  • lisa is simply amazing

  • Wonderfull

    Greetings from Turkey

  • me vale madre vieja

  • Awesome ... I have always loved the power of this song ... would be amazing to see live.

  • wonderful!

  • amazing!

  • I always have to do an OH YEAH! out loud every time I finish hearing that song on the CD such a powerful rush - it gives me chills

  • Loooooove.

  • I love the way the emotion slowly eases into the song. It makes the ending even more dramatic and powerful.

The magic way whitch crosses reality and let you far beyond : listen to dead can dance reading a HPLovecraft book

  • haha, i've done that. DCD makes beautiful and mystical music. nearly forgot to mention deeply emotional. HP Lovecraft is a master of his craft.

  • lisa gerrard and anneli marian drecker from bel canto would make a kick ass duet

  • Now , I can Die .

  • right on.

  • every time i hear at Lisa's voice I'm almost fucking come in my pants - am I "normal" ? XDDD

  • not really, but more normal than people who, somehow, manage to not have a reaction to her voice, i think

  • Check out Lisa's audio interview on filmmusicradioDOTcom she's wonderful!!

  • They are an artful bunch of musicians...I can't understand why they draw all the goth people?

  • It's a 4AD thing, I guess. They start out listening to This Mortal Coil and then discover this other band...? Ask a goth I suppose.

This tune is my fave to jam along with on drums. Never fails to expand my spirits.

  • Oh man, you are closer to the truth than you realize. I was goth in college and 4AD and TMC was exactly how i discovered them. More mature and a professional now and still love 'em. I play it for my infant twin sons.

  • because once culturally important things like being goth have become funny little trends, and anything that sounds similar to the trend is pursued like a religion. I've never aligned myself to any such denomination, I'm just a musician who loves great music and art. This is both

  • couldn't agree more...

  • This totally rocks! Thank you for sharing! I have this dvd along with DCD cd collection, I am a die hard fan :P but I could never show it to my friends over seas, so they could have an "idea" of what I was talking about.

    Thank you so much!

  • my all time favorite DCD song for dance!!!!thanks

  • i HAVE LOVED lISA SINCE 1990 AIEON AND FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY INTO THE LABRYNTH. HER GREATEST MOMENT THOUGH FOR ME, IS HOST OF THE SERAPHIM 1988.

  • verdadero arte deberian hacerlo con instrumentos musicales prehispanicos

  • Dead Can Dance forever!

  • this is awesome! i really love this song, very powerful.. it's like you can see everything even your eyes are close

  • A masterpiece of real music...soul is there...

  • Pulchra vox.

  • this is real art

  • i love this song, both versions. when i saw this film, 1995 i believe, the theatre audience exploded into cheers at the end of the piece. this version seems to belong on a battlefield. the studio recording, from the realm of a dying sun album, 1987(?), is an emotionally cool hypnotic chant, like a religious hymn.

  • I agree.
