i beat this game 30 yrs ago in the arcade .. you dont need help icons to finish it .. jus memorize the screens .. like us ol skool kids did back in the day .. there was no cheats or help .. we just played the game & learned from trial & error.

This "review" was really harsh. It's not just a game, it has a large cult following. People see Rocky Horror Picture show for the same reason DL fans come back to this genre of games and has a high level of replayability.

I was a kid from the 80's that was simply amazed by Dragon's Lair. I saw it in arcades and on the news but to this day, I've NEVER played it.

So, it's available for download on the PS3, PSP, DSi/3DS, and coming soon for the 360. I own all of these systems but I want to buy it for my portable. So, which do I go with: PSP or 3DS? Any input is appreciated!

F.Y.I. - Don Bluth used centerfolds for the inspiration for Daphne. They had some budget issues, so one of the animating staff voice Daphne, hence the strange voice/tones...

So Dragon's Lair was popular in your arcade? At the Aladdin's Castle in Duluth, we were all bored with the game as soon as we figured out that the gameplay is essentially Simon. The arcade cabinet looked awesome, though. But I think it was only popular for about a month. Then it was back to Xevious or Zaxxon or Mario Bros. But it's interesting to see a part of the Laserdisk fad preserved for our kids.

Awww you didn't like the SegaCD version? I thought it was good. I know this is your opinion but I thought that Dragon's Lair 2 and Space Ace were really interesting games as well. The only thing I have to agree with you, however, is the title. It should really be called Don Bluth trilogy or something since he did the animation on the 3 games.

I bought this game, and just love it! This is the closest I seen to the original arcade titles....except in Space Ace, then you Energize, it flashes blue rather then red, like in the arcade version. As a Dragon's Lair and Space Ace fan, this is a great game to own....but only nice for people who like the games, and games like it, and as well as enjoy watching the great Bluth classic animation.
