It has something of the Apocalypse Now-The Doors- This is the End-spirit about that track. What a group of players Jane's were. And Perry is chilling. If he'd've been found dead the following day no-one would've been surprised. Each gig with him then was like: Cool, he's gonna give us one more before he checks-out.
Today he's cured, less innovative....but Jane's still have enough of a hard-on to keep us folk interested. Thank you boys!
...never new this was an old song either! I thought this song was ahead of it's time when the Kettle Whistle album came out! and to find out they were playing it in '88 is sick! One of the best posted vids on Youtube!
"what makes baby cry" was the name of this song on the record i used to have.it was a little different on the record.he had these realy cool screams, that just took you somewhere els.this is a great version of this song too.thank you for the post!
I never knew this was an old song....i thought it came out when the album Kettle Whistle with all the old songs did....nice find!!!! Thanks for posting!
I'll never forget, October 30th, 1988. The World club, New York City. A projection of 2 giant flaming heads appeared on the back wall, and Perry in a cut up holloween clown suit came walking/floating out to this song. The best!

God, look at Perry in all his glory...
This was the first track of their set when I saw them open for Iggy Pop in 1989.
Thanks for posting.
