  • I'm pretty sure this is not a true sour. Sour mashing is used in the making of whiskies like Jack Daniels, and it refers to using a small amount of spent wort in order to add acidity to the new mash. I've never seen it used to make beer before.

    A traditional sour beer will have lactobacillus or brettanomyces or some other souring agent added during fermentation, not during mashing.

    Good review. You should try some Flemish Reds is you're interested in great sour beers.

  • I did enjoy the label...looked like an old painting. It looked like there wasn't much happening in the glass. Don't know anything about sour beers, don't see the need.
