Actually it looks like there might be either another large craft, or two smaller craft represented by 2 very small "dots" above the object almost to the top of the screen.

Intuitively, it seems that for long distance space travel, one would want to harness stars, due to their immense gravity. The problems with that are the immense heat, radiation, and gravity.
