why is she saying it has it has optional 2GB discrete graphics, n when you go to their website it doesn't says anything about discrete graphics. all it says is the stupid Intel hd 3000.
Can't decide between the e220 and the x220. I'll be a college student this fall for computer science, so I'm looking for something portable and good for typing lots of code. Originally I was just going to go with the x220 since I'm a fan of the keyboard and matte display, but I'm not sure if all of the business oriented extras are right for a college student. The price difference is negligible, I just have to figure out what's right for me.
@munichlondon Then you'll want to go for the E420. As for battery life I'm not hugely impressed. There's an option to upgrade to a 9 cell battery on the E420 but that's about it. Guess that's where the X220 comes in.
this is going to be a great laptop. Unlike the L, T and W series, the 2gb graphics will be a nice option for decent gaming and it'll also have a better speaker. A solid work/entertainment system rolled into one. The only disappointment is the low 768p resolution with no upgrades available. But considering the price and the relatively small screen this shouldnt really matter.
@Pinbackfan I was looking at the y560 but as soon as i saw how clean this one looked i knew i wanted it... What dont you like about the e420s? Or you just dont feel like spending the extra 100??

Guys, the lower resolution is good for gaming...
Remember it's a laptop!

These are overpriced, because the monitor sucks.

I think the 420s has a glossy display. Can anyone confirm that? I hope I am wrong
munichlondon 10 months ago
@munichlondon The ThinkPad Edge E420s comes with a glossy display and you are indeed correct. Sorry if you were hoping for a matte finish,
0brykh
(you can always change the display by purchasing an aftermarket display and switching the two, so not all hope is lost)

@0brykh tthere is an option for antiglare

@NAPTOWNLOS15 I'm having the same problem, I can't stop looking at the E220s. So far the only disappointing part is 5.5 hours of battery.
