  • This is something he can play on a bad day. . . without a problem.

  • 0:42 to the guy in the back yawning...please if you are not interested...F off

  • It's interesting that he's pedaling with his left foot...

  • When you see the words "Holy S***" in the dictionary... you see a picture of this guy.

    Nothing but BRILLIANT!!!

  • BEETHOVEN SE SACA EL SOMBRERO ANTE ESTE MAESTRO.

  • He's only fast, he has great technique, ma no expression. Sorrt guys, thats my opinion.

  • 0:50 "It's my piano."

  • WUAU............. INCREDIBLE DT RULES

  • the middle part of the video reminds me of a mix between donkey kong 64 and banjo tooie (not banjo-kazooie)

  • que groso que es!!

  • he is the epitome for piano

  • thumbs up if you notice jordan is sitting on his foot.

  • even a 13 years old classical pianist can do that much more better.

that's way you noobs create your fake heroes and think that Music is something like a machine-gun shooting 240bpm senseless notes.

  • @califforock2000 maybe you are pissed because ppl says he's awesome, well he is, the point is what he has acomplished in his life and in his actual career in the music industry thanks to his technique. saying who someone could do it better is signal that you're a lil' bit biased by the truth of skills. Sorry english is not my first language.

  • @Mayhem2414

I do not care about career, music industry or stuff maybe good for a freak critic on Lady Gaga success.

I'm talking about Music. Fortunately not all the young people are discovering the real music culture, which is something totally different form snake oil salesmen.

  • @califforock2000 then what kind of music does the kids should listeng to? i mean, look what you said: "noobs creating false idols", and that someone could do a better playing. try to think before what you're about to argue!!!!

  • @califforock2000 Do you want an e-cookie?

  • @califforock2000 nope your just a hater. dream theater is an amazing band i really dont like heavy metal that much but dream theaters amazing. makes all that fake bull shit music now a days look even stupider.

  • That's not improvised at all... I don't know the song, but it's clearly a classical piece.

  • @fescolfaro Do you know what improvisation means? Clearly not. This is improvising, he shreds these kinda songs all the time. Even when he plays covers, he IMPROVISES his own style. Get it?

  • @SuperHarvestMan Doofus, sometimes he improvises, sometimes he plays written music. But you wouldn't hear the difference if it bit you in the ass.

  • 240p, we meet again.

  • @EyMeng LOL

  • putting many pianist to shame every time he plays

  • TECHNICAL WIZARDRY ALONE DOESNT AMOUNT TO MUSICAL GENIUS.

  • @MrCrgl There's always one who can't just enjoy the mad playing isn't there...

  • @Mp5Drummer you got a point. but I think everything he plays has this same quality.

  • @MrCrgl imeant to to vote u up mate

  • i opened up guitar pro just so i could write and play the potential last chord of that...

  • espectaculo de que???

  • How does he play with his foot there????

  • Rudess is a boss on the piano....

  • :D

  • @JDnCoke1992 I V/ii V/V V (C A D G). Indeed it is chromatic, since the secondary dominants he plays allows for notes not diatonic to occur.

  • @TheVoodude ouch!! brain hurted! i has not taked theory yet

  • @JDnCoke1992 left play G7 for the last chord and his right hand shred a G mixolydian scale on 3 octaves

  • @AndreLucLevesque Um, I mean no offence, but isn't a G mixolydian scale just a fancy way of saying C major scale starting on the dominant? Given that there is no time signature to consider, unless he stated it previous to the recording, wouldn't the emphasis become the same?

If I'm wrong please don't hesitate to rebuke me.

Have a nice day and night!

  • @Flutt3rshy Yeah exactly, but IMO, this isn't a fancy way, they should be know as they have there own colors, because these scale(mode) are the natural scale of the Chord associate. (i.e. by degree) I=Ionian(major), II=Dorian, III=Phrygian, IV=Lydian, V=Mixolydian, VI=Aeolian(natural minor), VII=Locrian. I didn't want to look fancy, sorry about that, but the only reason why I said this, was that I personally think that mode should be known as much as major and minor scale.

  • @AndreLucLevesque It's me who should apologise for calling it fancy, it really isn't so. It was a word used in haste, I suppose I was just too lazy to find the proper one.

Personally though I still feel that defining all of the (basic) scales in terms of major scales with a different principle note and understanding the interaction helps composers more than having different scales in their own right. Both schools are equally valid though, I don't mean to imply one greater than the other!

  • jordan play piano like an angel

  • @LuisDezz maybe, but we dont yet know how angels play. But if they play like Rudess then God must have a really bad time up there.

  • Just a boring piano shreding, on basic scales. come on Rudes, Speeding up like a ferrari doesnt make you any better pianist.

  • @jazzywingz Whats wrong with it man? hahahaha.

  • @jazzywingz recommend me a pianist with not basis scales

  • @jazzywingz your an idiot

  • Sitting like a yogi, cool!

  • i swear he does some of the music for spongebob

  • verified that Jordan Rudess was fabled to be the next :

Great American Classical Pianist ... for obvious reasons !

  • 0:41 the guy on the back was sleepyy, yawwwnnnnnn

  • foot siting!!!

  • So effortless!

  • this is officialy piano rape

  • @thesortsakis No. It´s just a guy that master his instrument..

  • at 0:20 the girl on the right said: he practice his fingers more than you..

  • @tecdragon1

Hahaha, i reckon thats a guy

  • his orange hat was too distracting :P

Jordan Rudess is the piano god

  • Dream theater are just a shitty prog band who uses sequences and shred, wow heaps hard

  • @pianopro9

Go die in a fire, please...

  • @aafjellstromofficial

Idiot fail troll idiot thanks for your reaction!

    Still, dream theater are shit

  • πολυ καλός παίκτης...ανεμπνευστο και ανυπόφορο συγκρότημα οι d.theatre

  • i like it

  • what is this music title??

  • @Dautomne2 improvise,,

  • @ultimateRupture improvise!!? oh my god! What a wonderful music!

  • the guy in the was onwed LOL!!!

  • Damn he's always good when it comes to that..!!!

  • he is better then me. times over 9000

  • Why are there only like 16 people there? That man is a legend.

  • @caseywbtp - because this was the last 1:04 of an impro that actually started 2 weeks, 4 days, 7hrs and 43mins earlier. If you look closely under the seats you will see the dead bodies of those who were there when JR started as well as the many who walked in during his little "mess about". Respect to the ushers that were walking around with earmuffs on so that they could clear the bodies out of the isles without their own brains exploding.

We lost a lot of good men and women that month. : (

  • @caseywbtp,

Jordan asks that one guy if the piano was miked yet, so it appears this improv was done while they were still setting up for the show. That explains the small crowd as the only people who would be there would be the stage crew. This handful of people in the video were clearly the only ones smart enough to stop whatever it was they were supposed to be doing and admire this legend at work. ;-)

  • @Tekkerue It sounds more like he's asking "is mike here"? Which would suggest he's waiting for Mike Portnoy :)

  • @sp4zzer,

Upon a more close listening... I still here an "ed" at the end of mike and I definitely don't hear "here". What I hear is, "is it miked yet?". Unless he has a funny way of saying "here" because I don't hear the hard "e" sound.

    '

But I guess that's enough analyzing. :-) It probably doesn't matter all that much what exactly he said, as they were still likely setting up for the show either way... Which explains the small crowd.

  • @Tekkerue Possibly.. i still hear "is mike 'ere-now" :)

    Not that it matters.

  • @exarkatarn It takes years of not getting laid to play like that, I'm sure haha.

  • @epilp2

I bet you're an expert then

  • What's the guy who appears around 0:45 asking?

  • @JohnMalcolm he's asking:

    Are you human?

  • พี่ผมเอง

  • HOW DARE YOU FINISH ON A V7

  • @TheVoodude ha

  • @TheVoodude There are no limits in music. It's entirely subjective!

  • @TheVoodude fucking half cadence

  • @TheVoodude I teach music theory, but Jordan isn't in a Theory I class. That's why.

  • @TheVoodude Half Cadence Bro

  • standing ovation from the huge crowd filling the surroundings

  • I saw this so many times i am looking now at the faces of the people below watching him play...At 0.42 a guy is yawning, ahahahah, someone slaps him in the face, ahahah

  • This puts images in my mind of dancing sugar plums.

  • The 13 people that clicked 'dislike' all need to be kicked in the zipper. What could you possibly have against this? Oh wait, I know...it's too good. Probably White Stripes fans or something...

  • This has to be all he does. He has to get up, shower, eat break fast, play piano, go to bed, and repeat, because there's no fucking way you can play that amazingly and quickly, even when he does shit on one hand, and do it that casually. Just resting on one leg.

  • i love how he's sitting on one foot, this is so easy for him

  • whos that fool round 0:40 yawnin in the background!

  • @ViperRob42 that wasnt a yawning, that was a jaw-drop

  • i always wanted to hear him play on a piano

  • "Its my piano!" lol XD

  • sitting on his right leg, peddling with the left

    what a pose!

  • with this solo, he could be a renaiscance hall pianist....except for the hat

  • oh god it doesnt resolve!!!!

  • @alfredoball20 true. lol. i was like. PLAY THE I CHOOOOOOOOOOOORD

  • @alfredoball20 very true

  • I'd like to hear a Jordan's solo work based on classical piano, with the harmony and touch of the greats (Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schubert...)

  • That piano looks scared

  • @jakethesnake854 It has every right to be :P

  • It looks like he's sitting in a really uncomfortable position...He's sitting on his foot

  • @Melermometal i'm also doing it, but after 2 minutes, you won't feel your leg anymore :D

  • I would take a battering, get arrested, then spend a lifetime imprisonment, just to rape him there and then.

  • lol.. that jackass in the background yawning from :40 to :45. How dare you?

  • That piano sounds so fucking good, as though the bottom end was running through a guitar amp with a good bit of mud.

  • Comment removed

  • WTF???? NOBODY CLAP??? F*CK YOU MEN! RUDESS MADE A CRAZY SOLO IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU STAY THAT LOW???

  • @MemphisDrums testing the mics fool

  • @TheGerthax It's a G major scale by the way

  • champion !

  • what happened to his right leg

  • @kotaabc hes sitting on it

  • Jordan Rudess = Genius at piano!

  • The guy who was yawning was later punished by Mr. Rudess with his wizard power

  • His foot is under his ass!!!!

  • his piano solos are the best ... everytime i listen to the first half of his LSFNY solo .. i just forget myself ....this is way too beautiful !!! thanks mr rudess ...

  • what music??

  • he will be a legend . . for sure

  • I hate to say it, but half these views are from me hitting replay....I can't get enough of this :)

  • @LearnWithGern Watch his "Piano Diarys" also, they are amazing

  • blows my mind

  • Not as impressing as Hiromi Uehara on the piano..

  • This makes me want to go play some piano. For like, three weeks straight. Either that, or go crawl into bed and cry. Haha, either one :)

  • AMEN!!!!

  • Little f*cker... He's not even sitting properly! F*cking talent!

  • Very Nice! good work.

  • love how he plays while sitting on his foot (: just shows that hes really human

  • He was sitting on his leg to restrain himself from utilizing his full capabilities on the piano, for if he did, everyone in the audience would immediately be vaporized. And if we were watching it on youtube, we would also be vaporized. So be thankful.

  • BAD ASS!!!!!! You Freakin' RULE DUDE!!!!!

  • He loves arpeggios and high notes, he uses them soooo much

  • and no bitchies whom stood there not even applauded... what a bunch of balls sucking cunts fuck that!! that guy had just destroyed the piano...he's a monster!

  • he is God!

  • @Sufdavanwat allah is the one and only god, jordan is a human he sleeps and shit just like u

  • @adibeh there is no god. god is a state of mind, an entity that allows us to believe in a higher power to guide us through difficult times. god is not something we live our lives by. if anything, that should be a sin, because it is a waste of time to spend too much energy "praising" something. No one man can be god, nor woman, nor animal, nor spirit. Even God, can not be god. It's too much power. You are your own god, worship yourself, and believe in yourself. Be all you can be.

  • @guitarman336 blah blah . prove it , simple as that

  • @adibeh yea i guess... do what makes you happy, etc.

  • @adibeh LOL. You're a little cunt.

  • @guitarman336 heh, nicely explained, truth is so hard to hear for some people . In my present state of mind, Jordan totally embodies the title of piano god.

  • @guitarman336 So true. especially when you say you are your own god. a big man in the sky doesn't control your future. YOU do.

  • @adibeh he plays piano better than allah though

  • @marcio0 u mean the gay john ? and the prick luke? and the faggot poul ? and the bitch mark ?

  • @adibeh if you believe that gay john, prick luke, the faggot poul or the bitch mark is allah... yes, then i'm pretty sure that's what he means...

  • What an awesome way to fuck around

  • welll i won't call this a solo... it's more like an improvised play

  • @MrSrponyboy Rofl it is a solo. In classical, and ocasionally contemporary music, an impromptu is free form and often derived from an improvisation. Impromptu are almost always for a single instrument. So by "improvised play", I think you mean impromptu.

    Therefore, it's a solo. He's by him self. It's a solo.

  • @TheAtma well then txs for the info =)

  • @MrSrponyboy = D !

  • not in Russia! In Italy. The brand of piano is "Bettin", in Padova.

  • MAESTRO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that when god is bored he comes and plays piano with Jordan's hands.

  • Jesus Christ...love it...so casual... LOL!

  • What song is that his playing at 0:08?

  • Hey dickwad.. The pedals are down there for a reason. use them fucktard.

  • @Imsorry110 Whats up with you? I've seen you commenting on a lot of vids and all you do is bash ppl

  • He has definitely classical piano education! The way how he can pull the different sounds up is really hard(i'm a pianist too). He is without doubt one of the greatest rock pianist!

  • 0:42 the guy at the back is yawning!...KILL HIM!

  • Jordan Rudess es lo que Steve Vai a la guitarra: mucha tecnica y mucha velocidad pero nada de Felling.

  • @rogeliosarambeta that its fast doesnt mean there's no feeling, and Vai does play with feeling, passion and emotion, just like Rudess. and if you say they dont, when do they play with feeling, if they play everything in Minor? if they cry when they play? if they play ballads only?

  • @rogeliosarambeta i think thats just a matter of taste:P i really like his music, and i assume you dont:P

and he has alot of classical influences, and classical pieces, mostly pieces from the Baroque have very fast sections.

but im not quite sure if he is mostly influenced by Baroque, i dont know that much about classical music:P i only know that most of the neoclassical style comes mostly from the baroque:P

and could you reply in english next time? then i wont have translate it with google:P

  • @666guitarfreak I do not answer in English because I do not understand that language ;-). I think it's just a matter of taste, for my part I am a fan of musicians who feel the instrument, and transmit an emotion to the listener. Rudess recognize talent, but the only thing that I capture in his music is the sheer speed of the keystrokes. But that's his style and I respect that ;-)

  • @rogeliosarambeta sorry dude so for you Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Ligeti, Bartók are guys just playing fast ? this has to do more with composition style than with personal taste, they represent the paradigm shift of the music from "classics" to modern, they took contrapunt, dissonance, polyrhythms, odd times, time changes light years ahead kind of comparing Newtonian with Einstein physics...to each its own, there is no better one between them I'm just saying he's not under the great ones.

  • He is sooo talented with a piano!! It's even more amazing that that's an improvise!!! Amazing. :)

  • I wish I could play like that. I'd go to a house party, do that, get laid. not have to say a single word.

  • @ExarKatarn Jordan Rudess must get hella pussy than!! haha!!

  • Wow! Kicking ass! Is there a master piece Jordan couldn't play?

  • NOOOOOOOO! He didn't resolve! Never end on 5-7! Other than that, TREMENDOUS player! I could listen to that all day, provided he end on a 1 chord. 10 stars!

  • este pelao es la cagaa
