so sad, that he has lost the highness in his voice :-( but the magic stays the same when he's on stage and I won't stop listening to him until he has sang his last vocal. looking forward to see him in 2 weeks.
@TheMegabitch09 lol. Yeah that's a really powerful line that one. I can identify with it at the moment! It's worrying what's going on in the world at the moment and sometimes I think to myself ''When are we going to do something about it''! Tally Ho, CR.
@CelticReject i dont think any1 will do anythin about it but hey we will always have fish . just with his music & poetry he can at least ease the pain ov some ov my problems xx
I'm a fan of Marillion from Misplaced Childhood. Everything else I met later. Marillion in no letters, no poetry, That is in my memory as I have. It's hard to imagine an album of music perfect, but this is certainly. That is why the concept Marillion need both the image and presence of Fish, above all its lyrical beat. Nor is it coincidence that when he separated from the rest of the band, plus I have done weeping copiously, never saw the hooker to touch down on the rainbow ...
Amazing........Saw this performrd in Vancouver, Canada on the "Misplaced Childhood" tour in March 1986 at The Commodoe Ballroom. One of the best concerts I have ever seen ( and I have seen a lot)!!
At the end of the concert Fish said " We have one more song to play for you tonight"................and it was "Misplaced Childhood" in it's entirety. Absolutely amazing!!!
Fish, I heard you for the first time in a complete darkness surrounding me, in a ricochet of life throwing its pieces on my inflamed mind and dying soul
Its such a shame that Marillion did not enjoy a better reputation as one of the greats of prog rock. They were too easily written off as a band loved by spotty schoolboys with denim jackets and long hair. I was one of those spotty youths who loved the band. I'm 42 now and this vid brings it all back - and it still stands up as great music, great lyrics and great musicianship. All hail Marillion. (and all hail Fish - he da man!)
This is great, I don't think I've ever got over them splitting. It feels like a bereavement sometimes. Maybe they burnt too brightly for putting this much passion into the words, music and performance.
Amazing song and lyrics.I still can`t get it how is that possible Fish left the band when they were most popular. They are my favorite band and i still can`t accept they are not together.
it's you who must to compare with the studio version from "Fugazi". and if you do this, as I did it right now, you will see that the guitar solo in the studio version is long 50cek., but in this performance is only 30 cek. maybe Marillion play this song two times faster? if you know the song good enough it's easy to hear that the last part of the solo just miss here because Fish begin singing.

Well said, they were awesome back then, especially script and fugazi.
They are a totally different band now, each to their own, but for me the magic is no longer I see Fish in one of the local Tescos regular. hair is a bit thinner ! but he always speaks

Refugees of romance plead asylum from the real,

Screaming out a ceasefire, snowblind in an avalanche zone

jimmywires500 2 years ago
both version are cool,
on a studio version I like that high note on a vocal. it's actually the only song that got stuck with me from that album.
Fish makes these songs so dramatic and personal. It keeps me young because I come back to these songs.
I think Fish got tired later in the song when he said "... Iconsidered an escape".
I am not surprised these concerts are not easy to perform but he always delivers great visual and vocals.
Cinderella Search is from the same concert I think.
